Ended up not doing it. Took the car back in right before the warranty expired and got the dealer to do rear rotors, pads, and sensors. Fronts are at 7mm, and I don't plan to track the car, so they'll last a while. Beyond that, working for Vivid Racing, I can get all parts at wholesale and have my shop guys do the install.

I did pick up the extended warranty though. Don't want to mess with rod bearing issues, or DCT replacement.

can you get any sorta warranty or CPO warranty at any time? Id be interested in it. I have an '08 with 20K miles. So the warranty expired by age.

i guess im the exception.. dealer replaced my pads at 48k but not rotors. apparently they were still in spec.

The BMW extended warranties must be purchased while the car is still under the original factory warranty as far as I know.
