I wasn't really talking about the tests. Tests are nice to read, but I prefer to make my own conclusions.

I have driven both cars, and while the IS is a good car, its just not as fun to drive as a BMW. Its too insulated, and has no manual transmission option for the high output motor. It also has a smaller back seat than the BMW. And furthermore, its not straightforward to order one to your liking. You have to wait. And wait. And if you're lucky they'll build one to your specifications.

The BMW is not perfect but it is best in class. In my opinion, that is. I have driven them all in order to form that opinion. Actually, I haven't driven the new C class, but I sure will before I buy my next car.

As far as I am aware, the new IS-F is not available to drive yet.

While I also like the IS, I'd have to agree with you. I've driven the car on a number of occasions, and it exhibits nothing but numbness in terms of feedback. It's nicely appointed, aesthetically pleasing, and even priced well for what it offers (...amenity wise), but it's ultra boring and uninspiring.
