Yeah, he needs to stay at the scene. I would place a bet that he had alcohol in his system, that's why he took off. No accuse, though.

1) GTR just parked right there. I hope he gets caught
2) No one helped the man. One driver walked over looked at him. No one else bothered to get out of their cars. Disgusting.

That guy will be caught. Pretty disgusting to see how people react when that happens.

Ok, a couple of things here. I doubt alcohol was at fault here. So many Americans so quick to jump to that conclusion. I throw that one out. Its a guy probably going to work early. This is reality.

Second, the elderly man probably appeared deceased, thus nobody helping. Most folks will call 911 and wait. This appears to be the case here.

It is very unfortunate this elderly gentleman died this way, but fact remains was although pedestrians always have the right away, he did try to cross at a red light. The Nissan had a green. Imagine if the light was green already and the Nissan passed through at 45mph? Same result. The guy in the Nissan should have stopped, we all know this, but if he was scared, some leave the scene. People make mistakes.

The bottom line is the elderly gentleman should not have crossed on red. I don't know how many hundreds of times this happens world wide. T

I do hope they can get a lead and at least question the guy in the Nissan and if he did just leave, being a felony in California slap him with a manslaughter charge.

Wow this is all just horrible. Any forum member in that silver or white E93 toward the end of the video? Maybe they saw something... looked like they got out of the car for a few seconds.

All of the bystanders actually did the right thing by the letter of the law and didnt touch the poor old man. That will get you sued in a second in the states. Im sure someone called 911 for help.

Yeah i agree everyone just jumps to intoxication immediately... but it just sucks in this one particular case because the GTR driver would have walked scott free if he had stayed on the scene because he was actually operating within the right of way and there is obviously video proof to illustrate that. But now he will be prosecuted for manslaughter and felony hit and run. Im sure he didnt know that at the time. I wonder what he and the audi driver were talking about...

Agreed. Nissan GTR owner would have walked. Guaranteed.

I wonder that also about what they were talking about.

that's not quite true, you have to do severe damage to that person to get sued...

the main reason why help wasn't rendered:

If it was an accident and the driver believes that, then why did he bail? I'm still saying alcohol. You don't think clearly. It's basic human emotion to empathize and try and help. He obviously had some thoughts because he stops for at least 10 secs. Or he really could be scum. Anybody that hits and runs is sub-human IMO.

i personally believe he had some alcohol in him which is why he fled the scene, do i think alcohol CAUSED the accident? no not at all, the light was green and he went. I'm guessing he was probably under the legal limit and able to drive fine BUT he was afraid if he did stay and the cops came then alcohol would be blamed and he would be slapped with a dui.

and i don't think he knew the other car was filming so he probably thought it was his word (word of a guy who probably had a few drinks) vs a dead body on the ground.. he would have probably got in trouble

the bottom line is he should have stayed until the cops came.

ive done some time in ktown. wouldn't be surprised if the driver was drunk. there are plenty of illegal after-hours places to get drinks there.
