The nor-cal crew started a FB group for all kinda random shit. Ex. Track days; monthly go-karting; BBQ; Drives; Car and coffee etc...(all kinda of cars too, now it has over 200 members around the SF bay area)

I am sure there are more than a few lurkers here...we gotta have more M owners and car guys in general around Sea-town and P-town...

Maybe we can start by doing something small like go karting or something...

We do some drives and some people do a lot of track days. Meets seem a bit rare because we're all really spread out. See the North Cascades Drive thread if you want to come out.

Not sure I get why we should use Facebook instead of M3Post.

Mainly privacy/information control; you can do a closed group/secret group on FB and public can't access. Why? for ex. drive routes, meeting spots/times, other car related shenanigans etc...

Also it is easier to manage threads on FB than forum and most check FB more often than forum.

Obviously not everyone use FB...so it isn't perfect

To clarify, the idea of FB group isn't to be exclusive (well, it shouldn't be with exceptions of course)...

I just much rather post a event/meet where it won't draw unnecessary attentions (cops and thieves)...It might not be a 'problem' here in the PNW, but it has been for other parts of the country

oh man don get me started on the slow drivers. I lived in DC for a few years and inherited the driving habits. Careful of state troopers, they're EVERYWHERE on I5 and I405.

We've got one September 7th. Just gotta show up ready to drive.
For a separate event though I wouldn't mind just a straight up meet I guess.

It was pretty ridiculous the other day. I was going up to U district, lady was going 50 in normal traffic density on the left lane! WTH!

And some dude just plain stopped at the lights (it was green) and put his flasher on and trying to figure out his GPS? WTF!

And let's not talk about the prius drivers!!

Moved up here from California and I couldn't believe how slow (and terrible) the drivers here were either. The worst, hands down, has to be the minivan drivers! They never pay attention, never seem to drive the correct speed, and wander all over the road.

Its the obliviousness that gets me...and worst yet, they think they are good drivers if you talk to them. Someone once told me that the he never had an accident thus that means he is a good driver...

The mentality here is very wrong...people think that no tickets no accidents equal good driver here....
