Java Green M3

Was driving on the 5 South near Culver in Irvine. Saw 2 Java Green M3's approaching me. Never saw this color before in person to be honest this color is not that bad looking in person. Really eye catching.

It was obvious these guys were together, wonder what was up this 2 Java Green M3's together?? Friends bought 2 individual M3's together? If so, pretty sweet!

It is probably some Chinese FOB students who are brothers or very good friends. There are two Chinese twins up here at UCSB who own matching Orange GTR's. They also have an X6 and M3 for when they get bored with those... Amazing how 300 million people can live in a country on less than a dollar a day, but there are others who can spend almost $400,000 on cars for their kids. Oh well, that is life I suppose.

The new rich in china are all build upon exploiting million of their fellow countrymen and women in poor and nonstop working conditions. You can be sure these kids are enjoying dirty money indeed. Wall street bankers money is not any cleaner either but they will buy pure exotics instead and mansion. No progress will ever change the corruption.

Maybe so, one of the driver was of an Asian descent. We were visiting a friend in Irvine community called Woodbury. There are some new homes selling there that are priced between $1.4-.1.7 million. Nice homes but very very overpriced for what you get. First phase already sold out and probably over 50% of people buying these homes are Chinese. For this price tag you still have to do backyard, blinds, etc. So in the end I am sure people paying close $2M. Crazy for this area IMO.

And most of these home were sold to cash buyers. Its impossible to negotiate prices if you don't pay cash. There is awaiting list for even cash buyers. Its hard to Imagine that we wre having housing crisis two years ago. If you ask me I think we are witnessing another fast growing bubble in irvine.

I do not think it matters if paying cash vs XX% down and taking the loan for the remainder amount. When buying new there are no negotiations at all. Usually the developer has some incentive (rebate for upgrades) if you choose their preferred banker.

But I agree there are a lot of cash buyers these days and a lot of people putting $400k+ down on a house.

My wife and I like the Irvine communities especially with young kids but we would not pay anything over $650k to live there.

BMW's comment:
" ChaChing! We figured out a way to charge some folks 5 grand for certain colors (orange, green, yellow) that you can get for free on a Mustang or Camaro."

Someone seems to have a grudge that he's old and can only afford an m3 lol. People make their money they can spend it however, and a little cultural lesson, Asian families have very close relations with their kids so they buy them things, the kids return the favor. No I'm not Asian but quit your hating lol

Im a student, lots of time to grow old and buy nice cars. Yes, I have a grudge. The Chinese that come straight from the mainland are some of the rudest people I have ever met. Love to sit in front of the lecture halls, talk on their cell phones, and then pretend they do not understand english when the professor asks them to leave. They think because they are rich foreigners that rules do not apply to them. There is a guy from Shanghai that lives in our house, dad gives him $15,000 a quarter for allowance which he promptly spends at the casino. He does not have any relation with his family other than a phone call and a quick wiring of more money every month or two. He pays rent so I usually do not have too much of an issue with him. Before you throw the racist card either, im a white guy that lived with a suite of 8 asian-americans for a year. Awesome group of guys, but even they hated the FOB's. I don't understand why our schools take these kids, they do nothing positive for this country and take their newfound knowledge back to the PRC to compete with us.

He is one guy's brother from another mother. Seriously though, 2 in a row is crazy. I like the color, but wouldn't buy it.
