I'd say none because the M3 isn't a drag car. Sorry.

Not sure I understand, they don't make any drag tires for our M3 because it's not a drag car!!? Then why I see so many Civics riding on DRs at the drag strip!?

Yeah, me too I was sarcastic, I'm tired of people that say you can't have fun with an M3 at the drag stip, it's like saying you can't have fun on a track unless you're driving a GT3 RS!!

Well I don't see the fun of taking an M3 to the drag strip. But that's just me.

See what Mickey Thompson, Goodyear, Nitto, Toyo and BFG have in 18 inch drag radials if you want to use stock wheels. I think Nitto has 285/35/18. It is more OK with drag radials for the tire to be a little big relative to the rim than it is for a track tire.

Not sure if a 17 inch wheel would clear the rear brakes, but if so, it might offer better traction. Drag radials are usually softer and squishier. I run 255/50/16 in place of my 255/40/17 street tires on my turbo E36M3, for example. They are taller, but just barely fit. I would run 275/40/17 if they would fit the fenders, but they don't on the E36 even with heavy rolling and a high ride height.

Yeah maybe a 330hp M3 is boring at the strip, but it's probably boring in the street too, and still you drive one!

At this point I mainly drive it on a road course, where the car belongs and I can assure you it's anything but boring. There's a lot more to fun driving than horsepower and driving in a straight line.

Then again, I'm going to assume you were just kidding and say do what best lets you enjoy your car.

Not that I like disagreeing with you but I think it's you that is missing the point of what an M3 was built for, it's built to do everything good(that includes having fun at the drag strip). The purpose of its creation was to be a good daily driver that you can bring at the track on week-ends.

Personnaly, I use my M3 in many different ways, that includes going to the drag strip, doing some track days but most frequently, it's just my 600hp daily driver which I think is pretty cool to have all that power in a car that confortable!! I'll even make you a confidence, If one day I order myself a brand new M3, I'll go with the sunroof instead of carbon fiber!

IMO, an Elise belong on the road course, an M3, it's a lot more then just a track car!!

p.s. I drove a Supperlegera at Circuit Mont-Tremblant last week and let me tell you something, horsepower does'nt hurt on the track either!

tirerack.com has at least a couple 18" and 17" options that will work

There's plenty of room for a 315 in the rear, and some 17" wheels will fit over the rear brakes

If it were me I'd do the 315/35-17 Hoosier DOT DR on a pair of Apex Arc-8 17x10 M3-specific wheels
