I have a local installer (Richmond) looking into installing Xpel's matte clear bra onto my 2013 Frozen White.

Anyone have any experiences with wrapping Frozen? My primary concerns are:

1. Keeping the film clean. I understand this wrap is porous, which may be hard to clean -- especially with a white car.

2. Adding gloss. I have not seen the matte wrap in person, and I don't want to add gloss to the Frozen paint.

I too would like to know about this. I've seen pics of a frozen black that had it done and there was def a difference in sheen post install. I believe the owner was planning to remove it.

as far as i know there isn't a product out there yet for Matt or Frozen paint jobs.

i've seen film that makes a gloss paint job look Matt, but nothing for us yet.

i have heard of some stuff in the works, but can't say anything about that yet since it's not my place to talk about those products yet.

I would think that you would add a layer of gloss, without a doubt.

bad idea. you will never get a match and it will not remove without changing the frozen paint finish. it will also void the paint warranty.

1. keeping the film clean is easier than the paint.
2. it will not add any additional gloss to your paint. I have done serveral frozen car wraps and can't tell the difference.

Looks like you already have an installer, if you have any additional questions - let me know. I just wrapped a m5 in frozen paint.

Which clear bra material do you use? My main concerns are the added gloss, and how the paint would hold up during removal/reapply. Clear bra on white cars are notorious for "yellowing" as time goes on. On my Alpine White lotus, dealership replaced the bra under warranty due to this yellowing after about 4 years...and I wasn't the only one.

just like milk (vit a, d, skim, 1/2 and 1/2 etc), the paint protection has become quiet complex. For one thing the clear bra on the Lotus is star shield. IMHO one of the inferior product in the market. The game has changed a lot in the last few years. The Xpel Ultimate, Prestige Film are one of the best in the market now. They will for sure no add any gloss. I know this as i did few installs in the last few months that were perfect match to the frozen paint. If properly installed on OEM finish there will be zero issue with removal/reapplying.

Yellowing= all film will yellow over time, however some more than other. For example, i will not install Ventureshield on a white car. I will do Prestige and/or Xpel on white cars.

If you really want more details, just pm me and I will be more than happy to take the time to explain the products to you. Even if you do not buy. Just to help out a forum member. Gracias.

I am also a frozen silver owner and was curious if anyone had updated info on this. I am looking at getting the xpel stealth which has been recommended as being better for the frozen. He quoted $2500 for full front end. Does that seem high to anyone else? My main concern is from living in Florida the constant sun exposure will cause the unprotected paint to age differently than the protected.

Anyone have updated pics/info from the past month?

Looks great. I'm lining up a PPF install on my Frozen grey car when it arrives in December.

Which film did you use? And which parts did you protect?

Great idea.

This Nemesis Nero (matte black) Lamborghini is also protected with matte paint film.

Best thing you can do for Frozen paints IMO.

Suntek matte film matches best on frozen white.

It took me and my shop guy several attempts to obtain a PPF that would not turn our "Satin" clear coat frozen paint into a complete matte finish.
We finally went with the Expel Stealth PPF, and it rocks! I've heard that it doesn't fair well with frozen black, but on bronze, white, and blue I know it works.
Did the full hood, a-pillars, rockers, front bumper, rear qtrs, and front fenders.
I just finished cleaning the ride after last weeks track event, and I am 100% sold on this material! You wouldn't believe the beating it took, and I was freaked over the deep black rubber marks from other peoples' tires flying all over me, but with the Expel PPF cleaner it came right off with NO problem after sitting an entire week!! This material is also "self-healing" whatever that means.
I am absolutely sold on this product. I suggest that you get a few test patches and apply. No matter which material you choose you will get some sort of a finish change; however, with the Stealth PPF it is VERY minor on my ride, and I'd bet that on yours it's even less noticeable. People don't even know it's applied on my ride.
Best of luck to you. Oh, this stuff is quite pricey bit IMHO well worth the protection!
