Hi all,

I'm contemplating purchasing a set of IND's OEM mirror covers with the M5 paint scheme. For those who have them, I have a few questions:

1) how's fitment? It should be perfect as the caps should be OEM.
2) how's the color match?
3) how's the quality of the paint compared to OEM? Any ripples/runs on the clear coat?
4) do both sides look symmetric? I understand that the mirror covers are not next to each other and any discrepancy would be difficult to see, but it is my understanding that they tape/mask the mirror by hand for the paint job.

I spoke to Andrew from IND this morning and he was very helpful in answering the questions and seemed very knowledgable. I would like to hear from clients as well.

Thanks in advance, and feel free to provide pics if you have them!

Howdy. I have the OEM carbon fiber with M5 paint scheme from IND. Here are some answers to your questions:

1. The fitment on mine is perfect!
2. Color match is spot on
3. The paint quality is great...No ripples or runs..no orange peel either
4. They look symmetric. If it was masked by hand, I can't tell.

I will get some photos in a bit.

IND uses oem parts for most of their products, so fitment shouldn't be an issue.
I've purchased a few things with them that were painted and it was always spot on.
No issues purchasing with them!

I'm interested in hearing responses from this as well. For the main reason that it is a well known fact that the OEM CF Mirrors are hit or miss with fitment (mostly miss from the reviews I've read through search). I know this for a fact as well because I own a set of OEM CF Mirrors that fit like shit. lol

Because of IND's great reputation of good work and fitment, I've always been curious to see if IND's fit better and if they do anything to them to do so?

iNDs paint is always spot on...I've got exterior color matched items from them that are perfect...I've even had them paint a fox red steering wheel trim and center console that look great...as for mirror caps i have not yet received them so I can update later on but iND is very reputable and honest

I have had the IND M5 paint scheme mirrors on my M3 for 3 years now. As others pointed out, IND uses OEM covers so fitment is perfect. Paint matching to my space grey is perfect and no issues over the last three years in how the paint holds. Looks like they came from the factory!

I had the IND M5 paint scheme mirror covers on my E92 M3 and they were great. OEM fitment and outstanding paint that held up well.

First I have several IND painted parts and they have held up great and match is perfect.

In terms of the OEM CF mirror caps. I have them as well but fit was perfect but they do not fit like the oem plastic ones as the edge is not as thick. That is what the foam tape is for. Once you line the edges with the tape, fit is perfect.

I was thinking of getting the performance wheel and painting the stripe fox red--is this what you have? If so, can you share some pics? Thanks

No my stripe is the standard blue but the trim is Fox red with frozen clear coat they also hand painted GTS flags on the wheel trim with looks great if anyone is worried about iNDs skills with painting by hand. iND can do it in fox red for you if you don't mind a few extra $$ or you can send it to them if you've already got one
