Carbon fiber interior...worth it?

Car is scheduled to be completed June 29th, and looking at what other options I can add to be installed by the dealer at the same pricing I got for the other "additions". Looking for opinions on the quality of the CF interior pieces and how they look compared to aftermarket companies' offerings. I got the black novillo leather and the carbon leather trim.

It would be hard to beat OEM.

Only thing that might be better would be if IND put that 4K weave on the interior trim.

I have the OEM kit (BMW Performance carbon fiber trim and center console) and it is very well put together. I would not consider aftermarket when BMW has a kit. I wouldn't worry about getting it at the time of delivery. The kit is readily available at competitive prices from many sponsoring forum venders.

When you refer to the "kit", are you talking about aftermarket carbon fiber or aftermarket carbon leather kits? I have the OEM carbon leather on my dash and have not found anyone who does the other pieces (steering wheel, center console) in that same carbon leather. There's a ton of the shiny/glossy CF pieces that I do not care for.

If your car is DCT we can also get the OEM 2x2 carbon center console

The "kit" I was referring to is the OEM BMW Performance carbon fiber trim available. It is real carbon fiber with a gloss clear coat. This is a product produced by BMW. See IND's pictures above (the kit they are showing is from BMW with the exception of the doors).

My definition of the term "aftermarket" is something that's made by a third party (not BMW). I am not aware of any OEM or Aftermarket kits available to match the OEM carbon leather trim found on the M3. The original poster was inquiring about carbon fiber trim not carbon leather. I assumed he meant actual carbon fiber. As I'm sure you know, carbon leather isn't actual carbon fiber.

Looks great but when I get down to the center console and I see its automatic/DCT...ugh...

They should have kept the M3 exclusive with a 6 speed manual only like the S2000. They ran it 10 years with no issues.

Anyway that rant is for another day and another thread.

CF looks awesome! The Amuse doors would blow these away.. lol

We used the Amuse Ericsson panels in the Blue Max project. Surprisingly these panels took a little tender love and care to bring to fruition. Both are great pieces and in the second photo you can see the Challenge quality next to the Amuse.

I have black Novillo extended leather and went with brushed aluminum to add a little brightness. Also the speaker surrounds are a brushed silver color so it all matches up nicely. I think the CF pieces would look killer with Silver or beige interiors.

I have seen the work the guys at oCarbon do -- they have E9x interior parts, and the craftsman ship is top-notch. Send them a note and ask if they can do a custom weave. I've seen some pretty gnarly custom stuff come outta their shop.

Does the Carbon Fiber Interior Trim replace the parts of the interior that would have been Carbon Fiber Leather. The reason I ask is because I ordered the Carbon Fiber Leather and then later ordered the actual Carbon Fiber Trim as an accessory to be installed...did I just waste money on the leather part?
