The rumour has it! M3 V8 Nordschleife in 8.03 min

The number comes from a M3 CSL owner that spend a lot of time with the big boys on N-ring including the Sportauto team. So its big fat chance that this is the Sportauto time for the new M3. Time will tell.

8.03 min with Cup tires.

Sorry South didnt see you already mentioned it

Time will tell if its with or without Cup tires. I think its with CUP tires since that what they used when comparing to CLK63 BS.

I concur, such a great time without Cup tires seems not very likely!

Which is a very good result also, don't get me wrong. But 8:03 would best 997S aswell as R8!

Isn't the "official" RS4 time 8:09 with semi-R tires?

It is a slippery slope when people start using R tires.... They are SO much better than high performance tires.

yes its semi R-tires but the ones on M3 is no different. Like the Corsa they work on rain too but of course not as good like normal tires.
If audi can use R-tires so can bmw Fair and square.

+1
Your time would result in a 6-second advantage over the RS4, both on UHP tires! (Old RS4 was 3 seconds slower than E46 M3 on the Ring)

^ Yeah true ture

However, its easy to make bad assumptions.... Cup or no Cup its a good time. Its great new either way.

A set of new tires is not a hard mod for those guys looking to take there new M to the track...

If it was the sport + tires then that is even better news....

Sorry, no cigar in my book. (If this in fact true.) Same type tires for each car is the only way to judge these cars.

Great time nonetheless, but in reality it's more like an 8:08-8:10.
That depends on the point of view: You also could say the M runs a second better then the R8 on the same kind of tires, couldn't you?

However I heard the 8:03 was on PS2 (which is not likely any more). Assuming that would indeed best the 997S with the same kind of tires. That's what I meant, did you understand it that way?

Best regards, south
