I'm really suspicious of its claimed engine weight
Well according to US figures, the CLK 63 Black Series weighs almost as much as the regular CLK 63 convertible. That's just crazy. The CLK 550 coupe and convertible are over 200 lbs apart!

So clearly its not the engine since the two AMG's have the exact same engine (save for the mods in the Black Series to give it the power of the higher end *63 AMG cars).

Just for Germany, you mean, right? I am pretty sure a few folks (like RealDC) got their ordered cars already.

RealDC got his car on Sept. 14th, I was told first customer deliveries are beginning at the end of Sept (Production of customer cars started this month).
So my guess is that this car is also a dealer car (called HEA in Germany). Some dealers get enough cars to be able to sell some of them to customers. Of course the dealer orders the car the way the customer likes it. Some german dealers sold their only car to customers also. Not much of a difference from a customer's view (compared to a "real" customer car) though.

Best regards, south

I heard this too. I was told that "real" M3's would not be arriving in the U.K. until the third week of October.

OK, I see. For some reason, I was under the impression that they could not do that. For example, it seems like all the UK cars are red and black, even the ones that they sold to customers, like FilthyMonkey's. This all could vary from country to country of course.

Yeah, that could indeed vary from country to country. German dealers could choose any colour (from the enormous choice of 8 colours though ), think it was the same for the UK...

A dealer here told me that virtually all the dealer cars are Jerez Black/Fox Red or Melbourne Red/Black.

If he IS the real DC, maybe his M3 also is real?

His M3 is without a doubt real, questionable is only, if he's a real customer? (rather than a dealer)
