Launch Control is useless in these cars unless you have good tires. Launch RPM is way too high. We all know this. We have DCT softwares, tunes, all these great things. How come someone hasn't come up w a way to lower the launch RPM low enough for it to work correctly? Or software to make it useful? We know we can lower the launch RPM slightly but still not enough to make it useful, especially if you're blown. The E46 has two modes of launch control... rip the tires or a truly clean, useful launch w barely any spin. My question is, can anyone come up w software that will let us set the launch RPM where we see fit for our particular horsepower? Or something like what the e46 has.

I believe that the BPMSport DCT tune lowers the launch revs.

I do believe it’s more manageable at 3500, since I’ve seen a few friends just burning out during LC, most likely due to cold tires. It seems to be a good compromise for getting off the line without overdoing it and causing wheel spin.
Other vendors may offer this feature also with their DCT tunes.

My right foot has become my launch control as well but with 569 HP at the wheels, launching becomes a little tedious on street tires.

You can lower the RPMs with the cruise control lever but not nearly enough.

The DCT software we provide lowers the launch control down to 3,500 RPM.

It also provides smoother shifting in drive modes, drivelogic memory for sport, much better/faster/well executed downshifting, crisper, faster upshifts in the higher drivelogic modes, as well as reduction in lag (especially when going from Drive to reverse and vice versa). I'll have to post some video comparisons when I have time.

Please do Mike. Especially the launch control.

I confirm it does all this in a very noticeable way. Big improvement especially when combined with engine software.

If you release the shifter as the RPMs build up instead of pinning and waiting to drop the lever, you can get a good launch. Just let the lever go at 3000-3500 RPM. Solved for free. I would rather the software tho...

Interesting, I'll have to give that a try. I'd also rather have the software.

Will be posting something in the vendor section this weekend most likely.

Glad you guys are enjoying it. We've heard some great reports back from the Nurburgring!
