My car came with PS2s. I recently switched to Pilot Super Sports. I think the Super Sport is a better tire. Not to mention it's cheaper and lasts longer.

just switched from the OEM contisports to Hankook v12's...

don't track..just wanted a good tire with a balance of performance and tread life along with price for DD and occassional spirited drives...hankook and vred's were my two choices..went with hankooks...thus far couldn't be happier...only been 2 weeks..but car rides quiters and handles feel about the same...might note that I went up in tire size slightly (255/35, 275/35)...

I switched from Pirelli P-Zeroes (which I liked) to PSSs in slightly larger sizes (255/275). But I can't say I'm thrilled with the PSSs. The Pirellis felt a bit snappier to me. They both are better than the Contis I had on my old (leased) M3. My favorite for street have been Yokohama Advan AD08s. I'm regretting having not gotten them for my current car. With everyone raving about the PSSs, I guess I expected more, but they feel soft and splashy to me.

Just replaced the original Contis w/ PS2s on the rears. Expensive but I feel cofident. I put 19k miles on them and I was slipping out on the quick turns. Fun and dangerous. I knew that PSS is cheaper and last longer, but don't know if PSS is covered under the T&W warranty that I got. Will switch the fronts to PS2 when they wear down. Contis were fine, but I wanna see what the fuss is all about with the PS2s.

That's interesting. What did you have the Yokohamas on?

It's really not surprising.

For some reason, BMW guys think pss is as good as more focused extreme summer tires like ad08 / re11. But they aren't, they aren't in the same class for grip and sidewall stiffness and cornering response.

Re11 (and ad08) I'm sure are much more precise and sharp than pss. Pss is a slightly more comfortable dd tire, but a true extreme summer is sharper and feels better.

I say this having had pss on my car, then re11 and tracking with both. Re11 is far superior.

The weak sidewall of the pss compared to ad08 / re11 is notceable. People talk about how light the pss is compared to these tires, and there is a reason and a trade off in sidewall stiffness. I never noticed the weight, but damn if I don't notice the change in steering feel.

Edit : additionally this guy went up a tire size which, given equal wheel width, will decrease sidewall support and promote a mushier steering feel compared to a narrower tire on the same wheel.

On the OEM 359 competition package wheels. 255/275. Also had GC camber plates at -3deg. That was nice!
