I'm not sure if this was sarcastic or not, but this is actually what I get on extended drives (highest I've gotten was around 340-350 miles with a 15 gallon refuel). This is on long road trips with the wife though so I'm not trying to drive fast or anything (cruising at pretty much 75 consistently).

Obviously, nobody would ever buy this car because of gas mileage, but 22+ is pretty impressive for this car and not at all what I'd expect.

On average with daily highway commuting though, it's more like 260-270 (17 mpg or so).

It really depends on what settings you drive on. For the first week that I own my M, I was getting 12.5 because I was driving with the M button and manual all the time. Now that I mellowed out (a little) my normal setting are, well "normal" (one light on EDC) and I'm getting 18.5 with 93 octane.

Agreed.

MPG? Isn't that feature only available on Prius?

Mine says 16.1 mpg. I changed my center display to v= because I don't want to think about gas mileage. It annoys me when I get low on fuel and warnings go off. I want to get it coded but trying to stay stock.

MPG? WTF that's for plebian commuter cars. Don't you mean GPM?

Before starting a track session I don't want to fill the tank completely as a result of the added unnecessary weight, so I update my GPM (gallons per mile) calculation so I add enough gas not to run out during my session.

+1 I get exactly the same mileage as you, and have the exact same low&high.

On a regular basis I can continuously get 260 out of my tank. Then Again, I drive 80 miles everyday, and 90% is highway with some traffic

Light comes on, fill it up. I guess it's usually about 175-200 miles for me. My commute is about 5 miles but I drive around the city after work, on weekends, etc and my speed probably averages 25mph when stops are factored in. I suppose I refuel 3 times a month on average and I don't do long trips hardly ever.

Normal mix of highway/back road/suburban gets me ~300 miles at ~19mph. All highway driving at 75mph I'll get ~22mpg or about 350 miles.

My commute is 28 miles each way, 60% highway. I normally get 260. 300-310 on long highway drives.

So it seems I am in the low to normal range (that's what she said...)

Will turn power off and see if that helps (want to fill up less and stop that annoying warning so much)

I'm in the 180 range (suburban driving), but my target now is 130. 105 would be awesome!

I don't think I've gotten more than 180 on a tank, but I've only had the car for a month so 80% of my driving is spirited. And I always have the Power button on, even around town, because it feels better to me.

I have an old Land Rover that gets the same mileage (~12mpg), so I'm used to it, but the difference is a grumble every time I have to fill up the Rover, and I smile every time I fill up the M3 because it means I get to go another round. Worth every penny!

There is no advantage to getting worse gas mileage and it shouldn't be a goal. The 105 is 7mpg at the track.
