Best Ericsson Amuse Trunk Replica ?

Before all the flaming begins...I'd like to say that I searched COUNTLESS threads, and every time this question has come up...NO ONE HAS ANSWERED.

So....I ask you gentlemen: Do you know who makes the best fitting/looking Ericsson Amuse Trunk? Have you had any good or bad experiences with certain vendors?

If you have one...please post up pics so everyone can see and let us know if you're satisfied. This way we can FINALLY lay this topic to rest.
Also...I know some don't come with the license plate frame holes pre-drilled. Let us know if yours did.

I'd go with JL-Motoring.

Thanks for posting. I have researched this topic as well and seemed to find a slight consensus in favor of the [Mod]Bargains over the JL, but it was by no means overwhelming. I would love to hear more first-hand experiences as I am looking to get this same piece.

It's a good looking trunk but IMO it only looks good with the entire body kit at which point you are probably better off going with the real deal to ensure good fitment all around. Reps are hit or miss and if you miss it will be very frustrating experience.

That being said you might want to try the used market for an after market trunk. There are some nice used ones available now although none are Ericsson.

I have a useless JL-Motoring CSL trunk sitting in my house because JL-Motoring said that a 30 year old body shop, 2nd generation, 5 star yelp reviewed by 360 yelpers didn't have the expertise to get the trunk to fit on my e92.

The body shop spend 5 hours test fitting. The trunk doesn't fit the latch and is unable to close. Now it's just a big ass paper weight.

Spend the money. Buy good parts. Your ride deserves it.

True, but I'm positive that most would agree with me when I say that $2500 is wayyyyy too much for a frp trunk and $6,500 is even dumber for the cf version.

The problem is, there are no authentic used ones for sale. So the only other option is replica.

So hopefully anyone with a good experience from using a replica from a vendor will come forward and share their story.

So after speaking with a few of you (both on M3post and E90post)...I'm led to believe that mod bargains has two replica versions of this trunk. Apparently, the cheaper one is more authentic looking and has the best fitment. By more authentic looking, I mean that the kick on the trunk is pretty much identical. If you were to put the replica next to the authentic, you wouldn't be able to see the difference.

Keep in mind: No matter which trunk you buy, authentic or replica, bodyshop work WILL need to be performed in order to make it look and fit correctly. These are NOT OEM parts.

Arguably, the truth is someone would say that at 70k 400 hp car is overkill. And that a $60/month Honda Fit is the better route.

For some people, spending money on quality parts is the only way to go. That's the lesson I learned. Why waste money on crap that doesn't fit?
