Not just yet. I had/still have the AA x-pipe with high flow cats, but I'm about to order the catless sections to replace the HFC from AA. Only thing really stopping me is that I used to have the AA x-pipe catless and it smelled + sounded a bit raspy, but that was back when I had the AA mufflers too. I figure it's easy to swap those primary sections to get the power before events if I don't like the sound for daily driving. I'll shoot you a PM once I make the swap.

Pretty neat! Thanks for sharing the review.

Is there a way to keep the DCT at a given setting? For example, when I put the DCT into manual mode, it gets annoying having to switch to S5 every time. Is there a way to implement some sort of memory setting?

Yes, of course there is. You can do all that in the Idrive. You can set it up under the "M Button" setting so its like that when you hit the button or under "key dependent" setting. You can can't custom the S1-5 in the key dependent setting though but you can in the M-Drive section of the Idrive.

What about for those of who have zero options on the car other than the DCT...

I as well have the M button so I am not sure if this will work for you but I am trying to help. I have a settings screen for all my options from POWER to EDC to SHIFT LIGHTS. I know that when I am on this screen I can push the iDrive controller to the right and it will take me into a default settings selection. This is the settings that my car will do every time I start the car. I figured this out when my buddy had my car for a bit and every time my car started it had everything maxed out. I hope this helps.

I'm keenly interested in the details of what this software does. The DCT is a very advanced system with a fair bit of software to cover manual and automatic modes as well as a range of Drivelogic options. I'm also wondering if there is something it does to iron out recurring DCT lag.

Quite frankly the OPs review was pretty much a fluf piece IMHO...

Our software is partially based off of the M3 GTS software. It's impossible to completely get rid of all DCT lag, as there are mechanical limitations that can not be controlled with software.

Shifting in drivelogic modes 4, 5 and 6 is quicker with less "slip". Downshift limitations are not as restrictive. It also remembers your Sport program as well. In drive mode the shifts are slightly crisper/smoother. It's hard to quantify how something like this feels in words, so I'm sure there is much more fluff to come.

Is it possible to remove the requirement to press the brake pedal when shifting out of neutral?

That sounds dangerous, since there are no real detents in the shifter.

How does modifying the DCT with this software affect wear of the clutches? Does this reduce slippage? And if so, how would reversing up a slanted driveway be? Haha, I have this issue, and there is quite a bit of slippage going backwards!

Can you expand at all on "partly".

Also, I've not found limitations in downshift with stock US software, if it does not cause an over-rev the shift occurs.

DCT lag in the classic sense used here on the forum is typically a low speed post braking, near total loss of response to throttle input. This problem seems very likely to be entirely a software problem

Great job acknowledging the highly qualitative feedback likely for this mod.

Along with your engine tuning software I remain highly interested in this DCT software as well.

Is launch control modified? The existing US std. LC leaves much to be desired...

Thanks!

How would be the experience with this tune, if you would have also the Dinan 3.62 differential?

It remembers sport program?!

As in, if I set mine to S5 in Manual Mode, drive around, shut off the car, the following day it will have the same setting upon start up?!

Yes sir. Sport button setting is retained. It will default to your last position

Hi Swamp,

I think giving out specific technical details would be an IP conflict of interest.

Launch control is modified down from 5,500 RPM to 3,500 RPM. You definitely need to be ready to counter-steer on the upshift to second in some cases.

Since you're in San Diego and I have a house in San Marcos that I'm at from time to time, I can load it to your car for a test drive if you'd like to give it a shot and then flash back to the previous version you had.

There was a member that went to California Speedway with the software a few days ago, hopefully he has some time to chime in on his experience with it on the track

hey whats up mike.. wow buddy DCT software is amazing.. i have a 2011 M3 with 31k miles on it.. I ran calspeedway this weekend and notice a hug difference in 4th and 5th gear shifting.. the difference is now when going 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th the transmission actually shifts hard and holds on the gear.. there is zero slippage.. with the factory software there was always a little slippage.. I was drive in S5 and in S6 mode... I'm not sure why DCT had slippage but im assuming it has to do with comfort.. but idk.. i hated that but now thanks to mikes software its all gone..
honestly normal driving i couldn't feel any difference.. i also drive mine in the 3rd hash light..
as far as launch mode mike is 100% right... it drooped to 3500rpm and car is gone.. love that.. will save my clutches in the long run..

here is a video of my track day with BPM stage 1 engine software and there DCT transmission software.. made it so easy to drive my car.. love it..
