Wow, no kidding. That looks pretty nice for 72,000 miles.

  • Insufficient oil lubrication - not warming up the oil
  • Insufficient machining clearances

With that being said, these are generic and could be the reason for any car. I haven't seen any hard evidence of any of these being a widespread problem

I would say you are pretty much spot on. The customer above changes his oil every 4k miles and im almost positive the oil is always warm before it is pushed.

Changing the oil is a key factor. S/c s65 no more then 7k miles on oil. Oil is cheap compared to.....

M33,
Thanks for the info on the Dyno Dynamics...makes a lot more sense regarding the inconsistencies.

VCM,
Very sweet torque numbers too! I think I was most surprised by the torque numbers I put out as the % increase from my WinnFlow dyno was higher for tq than HP. I thought for some reason it may have been the DynoJet as my tq reading was I think like 15-20 higher than AA's advertised dyno on the car. Good to see your dyno confirming this

I have has this Vbox sport for like a week now and I'll put it to use whatever night is dry this week. Looks like tomorrow will be nice. Was kind of stressed with some stuff at work and my car was way too loud for my liking. Was hesitant to even rip on it. Changed my exhaust setup to ACM test pipes + M performance rear which is perfect! Very quiet for a primary catless setup. I don't feel any loss in performance but I figure if anything it would be very minimal and just about impossible to feel +- 5 on a car this powerful. I don't know if I'll bother to dyno it again but we'll see down the road.

Just got back from Active earlier today to follow up on my car.

She's almost done. Going to tune & dyno on Monday then pickup. Can't say enough good things about Active Autowerkes. I've been a customer of Active's for a few years and they are the only one I trust with my car. They do good work there. I HIGHLY recommend them.

535whp on a mustang - very nice! Damn all of these Level 3s seem to be right on the money with that 580whp+ DynoJet. Got to love the consistency of right out the box kits with no "funny" pulleys, race fuel, etc. AFRs seem all right on point too. I didn't particularly like the place I had my DynoJet reading done at but the one thing he did say after the 10+ pulls over 2 days is "damn that runs consistently". Even comparing back to the dyno day with no torque reading all my runs were within a few whp of each other. There was no "magic" one time run that gained 15+whp that couldn't be replicated again. Same consistency on the WinnFlow dyno. Consistency is the most important thing IMO. A glory run is fun to brag about but the fun stops there!
