Talking M3 Limerock - Hot Laps

A few laps around Lime Rock in the advanced/expert run group CT Valley Chapter.... Direzza square setup, Performance Friction 08 pads, Motul 600 fluid, Dinan exhaust (rear section).

A little sloppy but its the first event of the year and the car was amazing and made up for a bunch of my mistakes.

Unfortunately no sound from my F%#@&ing Contour GPS... anyone not have trouble with this camera?

It was a great day, a lot of cool cars and great weather!

I know, no sound sucks especially as the car was making some good ones... I'm about to go out and buy a GoPro, I couldn't believe it didn't record any sound

cool video! gopro's are not without their own faults. I own two Hero2 the neither record sound unless I have a mic hooked up with self power (battery).

Looks like a great day. I like LImerock.

Watching a helmet cam makes me a little seasick. Can tell you don't have a race seat and rig.

Looks like a great day, glad you had fun.

May I suggest that you keep your head level while turning (not for us getting seasick, good job at that ), it'll help you with consistency and maintain peripheral vision.

A seat and harness would be nice! My legs are were hurting from holding me in the seat....

The further I get involved in this the more stuff I need $$$$$$$

If you have power seats you can do what I did and had good results with.

1. Set your seating position where you want it.

2. Assign that to a memory button.

3. Slide your seat back a few inches.

4. Pull your belt snug.

5. Yank the belt hard and fast to get the belt to lock. Hold that.

6. Press your memory button previously assigned.

Doing this will keep you pretty tight into your seat. It's not race seat and harness tight, but if you aren't ready to go there it's a good low cost (ie free) option.

Another low cost option would be a CG Lock (http://www.cg-lock.com/). I've never tried it, but a few guys at the track suggested it.

Seat(s)+cage+harness(es) can quickly add up to exceed $5k easily.

Stock M seats are good enough IMO. I've had good improvement with:
- tilting the seat bottom backwards to resist sliding forward while braking
- a pair of anti-slip mat (foam kind) that you can put under your butt and behind your back
- nice pair of knee pads with gel cushion

Pretty cheap, so perhaps it's worth a try.
