Loved your wheels as soon as I saw you pull in last weekend. I got a crappy iPhone pic but figured I'd share it. I like the idea of the darker center caps and the HRE logo dark too. After seeing your car I'm def going to look into getting a set for my M5.

It was nice meeting you btw.

Hey thanks man! Thanks for the picture also! LOVE your M5, was nice to meet you also.

I'd love to get the CF centercaps, but despite the price of the wheels, can you really justify $150ea for carbon fiber centercaps?

My buddy bought Larry's car and in person the color does not look like a cleared primer. It is gorgeous. I think they look good on your car, but not great. You should do a diff color on that specific white.

I've seen Battleship grey colored cars and engine bays. I think it looks good on your car but something is missing. I'm thinking it might be what everyone else is saying on the center caps.

I love a dark charcoal/gunmetal wheel.

For this particular style though I think satin black is gorgeous because of the sharp angular edges. The satin finish brings out the sharp edges more than the glossy paint

I had my P40s refinished at a top notch shop on Long Island. They came out OK, but not like HRE factory finish.

I would of had to pay like 200 more for HRE to do them....well well well worth it. I made a mistake.

Yeah, for sure! Thanks! Unfortunately those center caps cost $150 each from HRE, which in my opinion is the most ridiculous highway robbery I have ever heard of. They are really sweet looking though...

Granted, they're HRE's and they are outrageously expensive as is, but I can't imagine dropping $600 on centercaps when there is so much more I can get with that money. Haha I could have them custom painted black for 1/6 of that!!

To each his own bud! The satin black is indeed, STUNNING!....but I only prefer it on a darker car.

Thanks, HRE charges $300 a wheel, so if you really did only pay $100 for a brush job.....I'd probably be a little uncomfortable about that, as I know it's a long and laborious process.

Anyway I trust my shop, they are the best in the business and I know they can come close if not perfect.....plus it's all part of the journey!! It's fun for me.

Amazing finish. I assume these are your wheels? Great choice if they are.

Did you do machined center caps to match?

No that's a good idea though. Do you have any examples? I have both HRE grey/black AND blue/red caps, so I was just going to use whichever looked better.

Mine came with these caps standard. I purchased the red ones which I liked a little more. Both are very nice though. Are these the gray/black ones you're referring too?

These are from the J12's, but I was given the option of getting machined ones in matte charcoal to match my rims when I placed the order. It was $100 extra per center cap iirc.
