ESS 650 Dyno

It was a long winter and I got greedy for a little more power after breaking the record at Atco in December with the ESS 625 kit (574whp)

Car and Modifications:
  • 2009 BMW M3
  • ESS VT2-650 Supercharger kit @ 8.0 PSI Boost +Meth (not boost log
    verified)
  • Aquamist HFS-3 Methanol Injection
  • Both CAT Delete
  • Gintani X-Pipe
  • Borla Exhaust
  • 93 Octane
  • DCT
Conditions:
  • Temperature:: 51.35 degrees F
  • Atmospheric pressure: 29.28 inHg
  • Humidity: 35%
  • Density Altitude: 310 Ft.
  • SAE Correction: 0.975
  • STD Correction: 1.002
  • Uncorrected: 1.000
Results:
  • SAE Corrected: 592whp @ 8350 RPM, 385wtq @ 7610 RPM
  • STD Corrected: 608whp, 396wtq
  • Uncorrected: 607whp, 395wtq
Dyno Database:Individual Dyno Results:
The legend below has the following meaning:
  • Dyno Run: Dyno run file
  • Timestamp
  • Temp(F) = Temperature (Farenheit)
  • RelH = Relative Humidity
  • Pressure(Hg) = Barometric Pressure
  • DA(ft) = Density Altitude
  • WHP(unc) = Uncorrected wheel horsepower
  • WTQ(unc) = Uncorrected wheel torque
  • WHP(SAEd) = SAE Corrected Horsepower using Dynojet weather station.
  • WTQ(SAEd) = SAE Corrected Torque using Dynojet weather station.

Looks good. Seems to be leaning out a bit on top. How come it starts to go lean at 7800 RPM? I would probably want it to have some more fuel there up top, you'll be safer and might make a few more ponies. I noticed the fuel pressure drops right around the same point.

Very nice numbers, it must be a monster

Those are great numbers, this is with the meth, correct? I recall reading you say that you felt like you actually lost a bit of power with meth in cooler weather, do you still think that is the case?

What shop is this at? I'm looking to get some dyno numbers myself.

You are maxing out the stock fuel system with the 650. In normal climates its fine but in cooler temps with thin air it leans out a little.

Cooler temps translates to denser air, not thinner. Hotter temps or at high altitudes the air is less dense, or thinner, as you put it.

Not worried about rod bearings. If something gives, so be it. It's part of the pay to play game. IMO, if you can't afford to build a VT3 after modding a car to this level your in way over your head financially.

I'm running toyo R888 265/30/19 and 295/30/19. No issues with traction

Forgot to ask if you have something with boost log or is ICS unable to do this? Are you running a different pulley? I see 650 kits at different PSI so its always good for people to know what's what.

Few people have asked me for a recommendation for a DynoJet spot and I can't recommend the place I used in Newark. They goofed with setting up torque the first day and lets just say I didn't feel very comfortable in that area...I own real estate in Newark so I know the parts well.

That is the right attitude you have to have if your going to push 600 whp on the stock motor. This is crazy power and even more impressive that your running around 8psi. Do you know what stock or NA tuned M3's make on this same dyno?
