WTT: e92 Suede Headliner for Stock headliner

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
Sold
Item Interest
Had my headliner, pillars, and sunvisors upholstered with suede about 3 months ago. I paid a little over $1k for the job. It honestly looks amazing and is definitely something that should be offered from the factory.

I am asking for $350 plus your stock headliner (no sunroof) and labor paid for by you. Please PM with interest. Thanks!

Edit 06/26/13: Price is now $150 plus labor!

PS: Locals only in SoCal.

Bump. The best price I could get for labor is $225. That includes both cars.

Seller is using low quality suede per the Interior Shop. High grade suede has a padding underneath it. This is a $400 to $500 job.

This is coming from the guy who never even met up to check it out. Get out of here man. This is definitely not Alcantara but you can't judge something without even seeing it. Grow up.

This is what your interior guy told me. I am no expert so I asked. He said there should be a foam padding behind it. That's the higher grade one that lasts longer. The one that runs for what you paid for it. The lower grade has no padding. He says it wears out faster and fades faster. He quoted me $500 for the headliner, visors, pillars, front and back door paneling. Sorry for the hassle, but your item was not properly advertised or you just paid too much for it and you didn't know.

First of all, he's not my interior guy. He has never seen my suede or anything. It's obvious he just tried to pull a fast one on you and try to do the job himself. I started a thread almost 3 years ago about doing my 335i with the same suede. That car was sold to a friend and the headliner still looks brand new with no fading.

Don't forget that guy you went to is performing in a little shack out of Van Nuys. I wouldn't trust him to actually upholster my car. $500 to wrap a headliner and pillars? You will definitely get what you pay for.

You made me take the day off from work and cancelled last second. Then you have the audacity to come here and bash my product when you have never even seen it. You are going off the word of some guy who is running a cheap upholstery shop and he has never even seen it.

You wasted my whole day and are a sad excuse for a human being if you ask me.

This is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE!!! No one puts padding under any suede whether it be alcantara or not on a damn headliner and pillars! Good luck getting it to fit properly in the car. Whoever is telling you this bro is seriously just taking you for a ride. Get some more quotes man I assure you OP is not jerking you nor did he get jerked. Ever hear the saying "you get what you pay for" OP's price is super good. If I were local I'd trade in a minute if mine wasn't already done. A "quality" job is going to run $1,000+ for headliner and all pillars. OP your price is on point man.

Not to weigh in but I was quoted around $1200 for the same job. Only reason I haven't gone through with this and gnhm3 knows this is because I CAN'T DECIDE IF I WANT TO KEEP MY OEM

Kind of hard to go back you know.

gnhm3 good luck with the sale you were more than cool on the phone and though I haven't seen it I would love to.

Damn, Sometimes forum members are as bad craiglisters. Why even go through the trouble of swapping for a $150? I leave a lot of my mods on my trade ins bc I don't want to deal with low balling dead beats. Good luck
