I will take more in time. Waiting on build ones. That would be nice if they were standard zcp. Does bbs make those as well. Have had them off and that is why I thought they were the csl bbs wheels.

Check to see if yours is 19x9.5 +27 if so, then you have OEM CSL wheels, you just need to buy one and paint it black. i believe BBS makes them but here's the confusion, perhaps early in the model, they may have a different wheel code, current style sold in the US is style 163 and the early style was 127 (which it appears to have a different offset for the front wheels, irrelevant b/c you need a rear wheel, and 127s may be a different finish):

i never owned an E46, so I have no clue, and that's all the work I'm willing to do for you, for free...maybe someone who owned an E46 will definitively know (Technic?)

I'm changing them out this weekend when I put in rs19s. Will look at the specs then. May not even bother as I have 2 other sets of wheels. These were supposed to be my around town set. Thanks.

Nice!

But why -2.7 camber in the rear? Sounds like a bit much. Usually -2 to -2.5 is the sweet spot.

I'm unsure. That's what I thought also but primebmws build that inspired this one is running -4.5 front and -3.5 rear and seems to work really well. Also has aero which may be the reason?

I would think that and their tire selection would necessitate more rear camber.

That's just an unusual number, it could be right. The key is to ask why -2.7 in the rear.

More negative camber in the rear will cause understeer. You might like it. I used to run -2.5 in the rear on my 330 and it did well but I would run into understeer around slow, tight corners but was pretty easy to control. Now I run the least amount of rear camber I can (-2.0 right now) without rubbing, That really makes the car rotate and oversteer more.

I will have to try and see how it feels to me. I was told I would be dialing out my understeer or oversteer with the GC bar adjustment. Builder will be working with me thru some of this initial break in stuff until its how I want it.

IMO if it were me I would take the car out w/ suspension as neutral as possible and adjust from there, rahter than dial it back .

That is dependent on a ton of factors and could in fact be what has been done. Won't know until I try it out. Doubt its very far off. We shall see. Two different people can drive the exact same set up back to back and disagree whether it oversteers or understeers. How hard do they get into the corner, do they trailbrake properly, does one set the nose of the car better, who is smoother back on throttle, which runs better line?

I am confident that Eddie knows how to set up a cars suspension. This past weekend he raced the E46 M3 and it was cornering slightly faster than the 911 cup cars.......and everything else including GT1 cars.

Oh, the car will oversteer with -3.5 in the rear if the front and rear sway bars are set to do so. Why so much rear camber? So you can put the power down early in the corner increasing exit speed. The key is to get the nose to bite and stick without under steer. This takes a little time to dial in perfectly even for the very best race teams.

I wouldn't touch the sways until you get close. Generally, a square setup with -3.5 front camber will get you pretty close to neutral.

The limitation that most run into is front suspension travel on an E46. Which is the opposite from my experience on the E90.

Sometime people complain an E46 under steers and start throwing upgrades at it. Really, they should try to increase the front suspension travel. Increase height, spring rates, and compression damping (if your dampers can take it).

I'm not saying your setup is right or wrong...just throwing out possibilities. If anything, you should be very hesitating to change anything unless you clearly understand what the issue is.

thanks for the help as usual. further set up will be done by eddie the builder during or after track sessions where we both drive it.

put in new set of rs19s and found out both front and rear rotors are close to minimum thickness. BBK probably in the near future i would say. shot of the mcs and hypercoils. also put on my ad08s for street use and track in the wet.
