Question Question On M3 Performance CF Mirror Cover Install ????

Installed M3 Mirrors on my E92. Picked up a set of the Performance CF Mirror Covers also.

I know how they mainly install, but in the box with the covers is a small roll of foam rubber strip with adhesive on back - where does this go???

Did a search didn't find anything

I think they just clip on to your existing mirrior cap, or you might have to remove you stock mirrior cap and replace it with the CF ones you bought there just clip on and off. pretty easy

Believe I saw an install picture at one time - the foam is applied along the inside edges of the mirror cap. My guess is to protect against car wash water / rain / etc. from getting into the insides of the mirror housing.

EDIT: Here you go - look at the 2:08 mark:

Beautiful, Thanx - that's exactly what I needed

I kinda figured it went along the edge somewhere, but there's not enough to go all the way around, and I thought it would raise the edge of the cover up to high in the little ledge it sets on around the housing.

I'll give it a try

You don't have to remove the mirror to replace the caps. They just pop off. I pop the bottom out first, done in seconds.

Yeah, I totally understand how to install/remove the caps - done it a bunch o times on my other mirrors.

There was an xtra small package that came with these CF caps that had a roll of 1/4" wide foam tape with adhesive on back

Never saw that with any other OEM covers, & didn't know where it was supposed to go - since BMW never includes install instructions with anything they sell

From the video posted above I see where it is supposed to go...

Yeah, same here when I did the CF caps. You're good to go.
