I would try just replacing the bulb.

Also, make sure that the connector is not loose. I had the same problem and the connector on the back of the housing was loose.

You have an aftermarket exhaust?

Mine started doing this after I installed mine. From what I'm told it is due to the vibrations creating a loose bulb.

Check your connections and bulb clips. BMW actually has a TSB for this apparently...

Mine did this. Turns out it just came loose. That's where I would double check first.

I mean the connector on the light assembly. mine was somewhat loose. I disconnected and connected back again. Started the car and the error went away. Hasn't happen ever since.

Mine did this too. A new bulb fixed the problem.
