buying used exhaust system..

Hi,
Im planning to buy a used Remus exhaust system including Fabspeed x-pipe and OEM connecting pipes.

What do you recommend me to look/ask , for example on the O2 sensors, bolts required, etc.

He told me that it is a bolt-on, no need to reprogram computer and I can use my current O2 sensors from my primary cats.

Thanks for your help.

Yes, you use your sensors from your car. You may get a CEL since the cats are deleted so be aware of that.

He also told me that the fabspeed xpipe is welded into oem primary cats (included)

But then are the connecting pipes needed?

Connecting pipes are for the rear section which you will need.

So is he saying that the setup is still using the stock primary cats??

looks like the Remus exhaust is just the mufflers, using the OEM connecting pipes from the mufflers to the x-pipe assembly. so yes the connecting pipes would be needed.

doesnt sound like a complete bolt on. you need the connecting pipes with the muffler for it to be a bolt on. cutting your OEM connecting pipe means you will need to weld them to the muffler, same goes for the x-pipe just and x-pipe without the primary cat delete will need some cutting and welding. having just and x-pipe without a primary cat delete usually doesnt cause a CEL.

Thanks for your help!!

This is what he has told me:

-Remus race muffler with Oem connecting pipes included (welded?)

-Fabspeed xpipe with oem primary cats welded included

Is it a bolt on? Or do i need something else to weld/cut and will i get any ECL ?

Can i use my current o2 sensors?

Thanks!!

i assume you buying used then? if he already had everything welded to his OEM system then yes its a bolt on. as for you o2 sensors you can just plug them back no big deal and i dont think you will be getting any CEL since the OEM primary cats are in place.

What's the point of swapping the stock xpipe for aftermarket but keeping the primary cats ? The cats are the restriction here.

Sounds like it's bolt on & you will use current O2 sensors. The stock primaries are still there but the x-pipe deleted the secondaries.

Deleting the secondary cats wont make any engine lights come on so no worries on that.

Not sure theres much benefit in deleting the secondaries since they are smaller though.

Deleting secondaries and resonators alters the sound of the exhaust. More agresive sound. I just don't understand why go through all the labour to weld oem cats which are most restrictive and not upgrade to hfc and weld those bad boys instead. Doing that route would provide extra 20 hp easy
