I don't why BMW NJ CCA charges you $400.
That is way too expensive compare to the Porsche Club which is about $150 per day (Thunderbolt or Lightening) I am actually attending the March event by Porsche club in Thunderbolt.

Nobody will guarantee that a vert is as safe as a closed car, and bad stuff can happen. I wouldn't want to be in one going into turn 1 at Thunderbolt at 135. There are NJ State Rules on this, too. They're very specific about roll bars in verts. CCA usually takes the "safety first" approach, and most of the students and instructors like it that way.
As for the price, there are a lot of groups charging more than $200 per day, too. $150 sounds very low - is that some sort of introductory special? (CCA does one at lower cost in October for first-timers.)

OK...just a few days before this event!!
By the way, note that if someone is currently interested in purchasing a Simpson R3 Head and Neck restraint system device (http://simpsonraceproducts.com/head-neck/r3.html), please know that I have one in the "Medium Size / Sliding Tether / Straight" configuration available for immediate pick up. It seems that I have an even narrower build than I thought so I just ordered myself the Small version. I will be returning the Medium one to Simpson next week, but in case you wanted to get one in time for next week's HPDE and I could avoid you the waiting time and/or shipping costs, just let me know (Local Pick-up + Cash only). As posted on the Simpson website, the device is $995.00 and is New in Box.
