I would drive all of the ones your interested in and decide which you prefer after you know how they all drive. I would pick the one you want to wake up to every owning and drive. Wether you go with ///M or not congratulations and best of luck!

Buy the ZL1 Camaro, save $30k and spank everything on the road including the M3 M5 ferrari, lambo, ETC... Etc.... Plus the ZL1 Camaro will handle better as well.

My F10 M5 would dust this thing and so would most Ferraris and Lambos...now a ZR1 Corvette would be a different story...but also a higher price... |

I thought BMW's were drivers cars and the M5 the ultimate... and the ring being the ultimate test...? I would say the Camaro beat BMW at their game...

It is ok though... someone asked if the M's are overated... I simply said they are as well as over priced.

M cars are known for delivering the perfect balance of luxury and performance. And they do that better than anyone as far as I'm concerned... So to say they are overrated and overpriced is completely wrong...you simply get what you pay for. And by the way...the tests I showed are FAR less driver dependent than your track time on Nurburgring... |

The ZL1 is a nice car. It is admittedly faster in most performance categories than most of the M cars, but i'd still rather have an M car over a camaro for the same reason a person would have a 458 over a Corvette. Its more refined. Sorry, I've driven the camaro, it was nice, but the way GM designed the car makes me think about what they were exactly thinking when producing the car.
By far one of THE worst blind spots out of any cars ive driven. Not to mention, the car itself is pretty redundant. Interior was pretty crappy as well. Not on par with the 5.0. If you want a budget performance car, go for the ZL1 over the M3. Better yet, if youre about budget cars, get one that actually performs without too much compromise in quality and get the 5.0/Boss. In my opinion, the new mustangs, including the GT500, makes the camaro a pretty pointless car to get unless youre a diehard GM fan.

I thought OP wants to compare only between certain selected BMWs?
To OP, personally, I think those M cars are the best of their breeds in the stock form. If affordability isn't an issue, I'd go with M cars. Otherwise, the cars you have listed are all great ones.

M cars were generally great cars that Detroit had nothing to compare against, but that was years ago and BMS is now cashing in as much as they can on that badge which means they are also going to inevitably water it down. That's a predictable cycle in the business world - establish a successful brand, exploit it as much as possible until it you've compromised it so much it loses its value, then move on.

If you have enough money to buy an M3 and then supercharge it, mind sending some money my way? lol
