Occasionly I will left foot brake as I have for years going back to the 70's ice racing FWD cars where you had to do it to get the car turning and to control the attitude of the car.Today I use it more to help settle the car while turning in over a rise and in the wet.In more normal cornering I probably do very little as I have found that using left foot braking for myself has made very little difference except increasing the thermal load on my brakes

Left foot braking isn't new or an automatic only technique. I started doing it autocrossing then eventually started doing it on the track in any corner that didn't require a down shift.
There was a video floating around of this guy left foot braking with a manual and then swapping feet to shift. Didn't seem smart but was entertaining to watch.

Don't know if I mastered it, but I left-foot brake at the tracks, and been left-foot braking for as long as I can remember.
