Got a 60" tv my trunk!

I just finished unloading my new 60" plasma...and I brought it home in my E92! Unboxed it and folded the rear seats down so I had plenty of room. God I love this car

That's almost as impressive as the guy who put a Xmas tree in his trunk!

I'm not the guy that you're directly talking about, but I'm definitely guilty of the Christmas tree in the trunk of e92. Lol.

Cheers,
Tony

Only issue there is laying a plasma flat to transport it is not recommended at all. hopefully you got it home unharmed. LCD can be laid flat with no issues.

I'm always surprised how much you can pack in an E92 with the seats down. It definitely beats the E90 in terms of utility.

Hah! This is great to hear. I remember having to unbox a 50" rear projection TV AND remove the back seat bottom cushions in my 04 STi to avoid having to wait and pay for shipping.

I tried putting a 27in in the front seat of my 335i and it scratched up my leather on the door handle. A hundred dollars to replace that little piece of leather. Anyway, glad to see that you did it.

Here is another pict of a guy and his Christmas tress. I love this one! lol

Yeah, weird. My 55" LG LED wasn't even close to fitting. It hardly fit in the bed of my friend's pickup.

The tv's dimensions are
35"x56"x2.5"
The narrowest part of the passthrough from the trunk is 36.5" so I had room to spare. Did not know you should not lay a plasma flat but no harm done that I can see.

I was under the impression that neither type of TV should be laid flat. I have been told that the thin glass displays can crack under their own weight if you hit a bump.

i love how practical our trunk is, but to fit a 60"??? i have a 60" LED and im sure it is much thinner than plasmas.

plasma tv's should not be layed down. im glad it didnt mess up.....yet! maybe a few months down the road you might see your screen going bad. hope its under warranty

I fit 4 girls in the back of my car once. But they were all skinny so it wasn't that impressive I guess.
