E92 M3 Race Build

     Featured on
So the part out it is complete and the racecar build is nearly finished. The car is almost completely prepped and ready for this years Race Season.

Missed the Road Atlanta race this weekend, but shooting for Mid-Ohio end of march and all the rest after that. There were a few requests to see the finished product so here is the cage build and some other pics.

manonfire E92 M3 build

Here is a little information on the build.

2008 BMW M3, purchased new.
Started using it for HPDEs / Autox right away.

Current Build:

6 Point + 2 Cage - Provided by EconoMotorsports & Weaver's Race Cars, Saxton Pa - The cage is 1.75x.120 DOM , the doors are a modified Nascar "K" design. They drop a bit in the front to allow better entry/exit.
Rear Suspension Tower Mount Reinforcement - Provided by EconoMotorsports & Weaver's Race Cars, Saxton Pa - To allow for full coilover in the rear instead of ta separate spring / damper.
Suspension - Double Adjustable Ground Control Coilovers - 550/700 Lbs springs - Eibach. - Provided by Ground Control.
Ground Control Camber Plates - Up to -4.5 camber (or more, depending on height of front end)
RDS 32 MM Sway Bar Front
RDS 29 MM Sway Bar Rear
Engine Tune - Provided by Epic Motorsports, FL.
Agency Power Underdrive Pulley
Seats - Sparco Pro ADV (Diver Seat) Recaro Profi (Passenger)
I/O Port Safety Nets
Custom 3.0 inch stainless, thin wall Race Exhaust (CAT Delete) - Provided by Off Camber Motorsports
Corsa Race Cans - used for baffles.
VMR V701 18 x 9.5
SSR GTs 18 x 10
TMR 18 x 10
Stoptech BBK ST40's Front and Rear
APR GTC300 Carbon Fiber Wing.
BMW E9x Front Sway Bar End Link, Adjustable
New Caster / Camber Plates
Rear Toe Link, Adjustable

Here is a test and tune day at Watkings Glen Int'l after a Engine tune and full exhaust update. (Notice the dash is stil in, all the flashy lights, and yes, the key fell out of the ignition!)

Here is a video from an event that I was instructing, last summer. Launch sound with new exhaust. Again, front remnants of interiror remain.

Some pics from this past Monday. The splitter is only test fitted at this point. Will be building something more permanent.

Practice Starts

Very nice, and one of the first E9x non-motorsports chassis out there. Most people would not touch a street chassis because of the electronic complexity. I know an electrical engineer that had trouble with an E46, never mind an E9x.

Looks like you would be a G stock or prepared or a D-Mod in BMWCCA club racing and probably a GTS infinity in NASA! Who do you plan to run with? I would love to see it out on track. BMWCCA is at Road Atlanta next weekend....
