6 States Introduce Bills to Legalize and Tax Marijuana

With 2 states passing laws legalizing weed there are 6 more states that also plan on doing the same. The latest one is New Hampshire.

Any way to raise taxes without hurting those who can't afford to pay them...I'm all for it!

States indeed need to tax the crap out of marijuana users, just like they do to cigarette smokers. They are going to get rid of a lot of crime and make money at the same time.

no all of the states are running broke and we are letting teachers and police officers go....because states have no money.
so any revnue that a state can pick up....would be good!
so yah...thank god!

Exactly the point. Also The DEA would be able to focus on other drugs like meth or heroin.

If the government's really concerned about our health they should go after fast food restaurants and pharmaceutical companies both cause more health problems than cannabis.

The truth is all humans have an endocannabinoid system and produce cannabinoids. Although in smaller amounts than in cannabis. The endocannabinoid system controls our appetite, sleep, memory, and does alot for the immune system. If your body doesn't produce enough cannabinoids you could develop health problems.

They wont get rid of alot of crime..cartel will focus more on selling harder drugs and competition for that will be increased and crime probably will get worst..

Sad these states have to resort to this to raise money ..I guess they have maxed how much they can tax ciggs and booze without having full anarchy on their hands....fiscal reality

Actually yes and will trigger severe disputes, because are certain cartels like the Familia Michoacana specialize in synthetic drugs. Yeah... we are f*cked up.

Whats sad about it marijuana is the 3rd most popular recreational drug behind alcohol and tobacco. It is the safest of the 3 with countless medical benefits both as a cure and a preventative medicine. States have every right to tax cannabis.

But if you chose to believe the lies our government wants you to believe instead of the truth thats your choice.

At one point of time citizens were allowed to pay their taxes in hemp, and it was actually required for citizens to grow hemp.

Yes I took 5th grade history ..seriously I am looking at it from the fiscal pov..here on one hand there is a supposed war on drugs..and on the other hand most states are running massive deficits..so they figure an easy stream of tax revenue..why not? I just dont appreciate the hipocrisy..

It's only common sense though. As it is marijuana is costing our government billions of dollars. Legalizing it could bring even more than that in tax revenue. There is a reason so many states are wanting to follow Colorado and Washington.

The war on cannabis will never work, there are too many people like myself that are in love with this plant too much for that to happen.
