Tail of the dragon

I'm headed up to Spartanburg tonight to go to the BMW performance center. Planning. On driving to tail of the dragon from there. Can anyone recommend specific spots to check out or a route to take. I read part of 441 might be closed. Anything else j should know?

Take the "Skyline", its curvey like ToD and way less traffic.

When I lived in Atlanta I went a few times up there.

Enjoy, and be safe. The weekends on ToD are super busy! Hit it during the week if you can.

Definitely check out the Cherohala Skyway if you get a chance. It's beautiful.
