I love it. This topic came up in another forum recently too, and it seemed like a 50/50 split between those who like it and those who don't. I like the fact that it returns to its original position, and the detents have just the right amount of resistance.

I think it's great but see people having issues with it all the time. It's not that complicated - basically like the window switches..

I really like it - especially the triple signal option before the detent (my Jeep Wrangler has that too). The overall motion and operation took about a day to get used to. And at least in the US on iDrive the triple signal feature can be turned off if you want to.

I can tell by the feel. Just reach the first pressure point and you get the three blinks. Push beyond it and you get the blinker on...

The problem is I like it so much, when I get in a car that doesn't act the same, I realize how convenient the BMW design is. For instance turning left and trying to hit the left signal at the same time because it releases at the right turn of the wheel; with mechanical designs, you end up slamming it twice. The BMW design is just an electronic toggle.
