Slon-workshop: 6 piston Brembo custom brake kits (OEM 360/380mm rotor setup).

In this topic i want to show you our own brake kits using Brembo components.

In our kits we are using only brand new calipers, which fits from factory on gm cars, like corvettes and camaros.
This calipers have lug mounts from the factory, so they can't be fitted on other cars with simple and beauty mounts, like other aftermarket calipers which have radial mounts.
So, we make our lug mount to radial modification for this calipers on our CNC milling machine, which guaranteed excellent result every time.

After modification done, all calipers goes thru sandblasting and then new respraying to any customers color choice.

At the end we are getting very beauty and usable calipers:

-Which have 190mm pads length - to understand calipers size, you can compare it for example with most competitors 6 pot calipers, which are smaller and have only 152mm long pads.
-One caliper weights only 3.3kg (7.25lbs) after mod done.
- This caliper uses very common pads form factor, so you can choose any pads height, you want for the best setup. You can take smaller height pads, 47mm or 57mm for 2 piece light weight rotors, like used in the kits. Or you can use 65mm pads, for excellent fit on oem m3 floating rotors. You can even take 76mm pads, for widest rotors, like 380mm rotors from f8x series.
- You can change pads without caliper removing- only center pin needs to be removed.
- Calipers have dust boots, so they work excellent even in everyday use.
- Overall pistons area very similar to most oem setups, so you don't get any problems when fitting them.

calipers before mod:

and after our work done:

For E8x and E9x cars we are making kits for using with oem 1m/m3 floating rotors 360mm. This rotors works very well, but only needs good caliper for the best result. This setup can be used in almost any 18 inch wheels for this setup.

You can also use 380mm floating rotor from f8x series, but you'll have 19 inch minimal rim size. You can fit this setup in 18 inch wheels, but with only some special rim models, like apex ec-7 for example.

Our kit consists from:
Pair of new calipers (in any color you choose)
Pair of lightweight brackets - made from aircraft aluminum and anodized in black.
Pair of braided brake hoses (goodridge components).

Base price for this kit - 1900$ incl worldwide ems delivery (courier to your door)
Shipping usually takes about 7-10 days to United States and up 5-7 days in Europe and UK.

(Please, check custom rules and duties in your country. We already shipped our items to US and Australia without any problems, but in some of the European countries were charged customs duties for our parts).

Optional we can offer titanium backplates, for people, who uses their cars on hardest conditions. This option is highly recommended on very powerful and heavy cars, like an f8x which uses on track.
With this titanium plates dust boots will lives a lot better (heavy conditions).
set of this plates adds 150$ to the base price.

More then 30 kits are done already for e8x, e9x and f8x series- some cars using on tracks, some on the streets. all of them works excellent.

I can offer two options:
One with beauty corvette caliper, which can work with wide pads, to cover rotor surface fully. But its not cheap, so set of new calipers with brackets and braided hoses will cost 1700$ (incl delivery).

Another one 4 pot brembo (smaller caliper) can use only 50mm pads, so some space on oem rotor will be unused.
this setup with brackets and hoses will cost 1200$.

Alternative option - we can make full kit with two-piece floating rotors, like brembo gt.

Exacty mate

I can even made combo config, which will work on both rotors, if you want to have the ability to select between 360 and 380mm rotors.

In our country some people change brakes with winter wheels

All brake kits on posted pics fits on m3 mate.

1m and m3 has the same suspensions elements (uprights) brakes etc.

anyway, i'll try to ask m3 owners for pics with brakes fitted.

from few days up to 2 weeks + about 7-10 days for shipping.
It's depends of calipers availability on the shelf, and color you want. We can make any color you want.

price include:
pair of new calipers with painting in any color you choose
pair of brackets (cnc machined from aircraft aluminum). high strength bolts included.
pair of braided hoses (goodridge components).
worldwide shipping with ems (delivery to your door)

Pads not included cause people take our kits for different purposes. Some of them can prefer usual ferodo ds2500 pads (for fast street driving), some prefer race pads, like pagid or endless.

So you'll buy pads and brake fluid and ready for fitting it on your m3.

For non M cars e8x, e9x, f3x, you need to ask and i'll make different brackets.
in this way you need to buy 1m/m3 rotors.

mounting hardware - you need only caliper to bracket bolts, they are included. bracket to upright bolts - we make brackets for using oem bolts.
and of course, retainer clips included.

How is the front to rear brake balance affected when using your front 6 piston Brembo with stock 360 mm rotors, and stock rear calipers with stock rear rotors? Seems like you would be shifting braking force even more to the front.

Oem setup brake balance is 65% on the front.
With our 6 piston brembo setup on oem rotor, you'll get 66.5% on the front.
With our 6 piston brembo setup on f8x 380mm rotor you'll get 71% on the front.
So, with increased stopping power and deceleration it works really good.

And you need also know, that your balance can change depending of pads compound on a few percents.

To prevent next questions, this 6 piston brembo have 5498mm2 pistons surface area.
Oem one piston caliper is 5657mm2 (counting x2, cause it's one piston), so brake pedal will have almost the same travel.
May be little bit shorter, if you change old rubber hoses on new braided lines

So within a few percent you can adjust by altering front or rear pad compound? You have me tempted.
