I suppose if that is your comparison then I understand your disappointment.

But if we are just talking about the M3 in general then I think most people would agree it has plenty of power for the average person.

If its not a dd, man I'd jump into a z06 if it had to be new or a 997tt if I could go used.

I've driven a 997tt a lot and it rocks, way more performance than an m3 which I also owned.

If not a DD, go for a used 911 Turbo.

The only reason I boought my E90 M3 is because it had 4 doors. If a coupe was my goal, interior aside-it would be either the current BOSS 302 or Z06.

This is without one single test drive, so that was my fault. I believed the hype. Of course the M3 shines in many areas and especially in places where the Corvette lacks but when you drop that kind of money on a car like this, I would have expected more power. In the end, I would not get an M3 again given the chance.
It's possible, even though we all love the high revving V8, that the new M3 will have so much more torque it will be great. The problems will be: can the turbo lag be minimized and will the new electric power steering suck? If BMW can devise a system with next to no lag ( very hard to do) and the EPS has good feel, then many on this forum will rethink their love of the E9X and go for the new M3/4.

There's no "rethinking" about it for me.

100 more ft. lbs. than the current one? As long as the lines look good in person, I'm sold. The car has enough hp for me.

M3 or C63. Can't beat the refinement of a German car.

But if you want outright power definitely the corvette! I've had an LS1 and LS2 in the past both with worked engines and power wise they're awesome.

Sure, but it has to be lighter than my current 3700 lb E90. And the real key for me is the EPS, as I'm sure hydraulic is done for BMW now, as it is for Porsche. As the current feedback and feel is not really as good as it should be, I fear the switch to EPS will be significantly worse. In that case, all the additional torque won't matter to me.

does Lexus still make the IS-F? I thought everyone gave up on it. I never see them anymore.
