The shifts are not jerkier at all under normal conditions (not spirited, D mode). With the other mods, the car now shifts like it is meant to when in sport mode. No delays on highways, no slipping clutch, etc. Just immediate (yes, more immediate than stock) shifting when demanded.

Many companies have a dct tune from my understanding (Gintani included). It was (from what I have read and heard) a performance tune patch from BMW that never hit mainstream as an update because it was too aggressive. Hence, it was adapted for the GTS. Again, no promises here, just what I have seen in these and other forums.

Bottom line, I am much happier with the shift response at highway speeds and from a launch. Feels like it was supposed to be this way.

Bring on the Gintani hate. Lol.

I'm happy with the car. What more could one ask for (save for an ESS-625 kit)?

I do not quite understand this hard driving on up shifts... do you mean by "always be in your take off gear and in S mode" to already be slightly rolling in 1st gear when clutch is already disengaged and car is in fact in 1 gear?

Can you try to explain again?
Thanks!

Pretty sure he's referring to roll races on the airstrip/highway i.e. don't be in "D" mode cruising at 50mph in 7th and then punch it past the kickdown switch when the race begins.

I don't see the need to use LC unless at a 1/4mile event and your car is properly setup (tires and linelock). You run the risk of smoking your clutches and getting massive wheel hop breaking something in the rear

"I was to focused on hitting 10.6s" ... Your the man bro!

This is clear and logical, but I was referring more to starts from stand still. So he was not talking about that???

No, use launch control for races from a standstill.

Who ever has done this will notice that every time you shift into 3rd 5th and 7th you will get a jerky shift . Well that's from punching it in 1st at a dead stop.
Always use launch control ! Or.... Take off from a roll while the clutch is engaged.
So he only recommends punching it if the car's clutch is (technically) DISengaged and you are rolling already and in 1st gear (can't downshift).

Doesn't the car in this case adjust/increase the revs to match lover gear and only then release the clutch?
At least it does that when punching it in S over kick down point and pressing left shitfter to shift down to lowest gear possible? I suppose doing this in S does not hurt clutch so much?!?!?

Has anyone here tried tracking the car using the DCT and sc combo? I would love to know how the reliability is on downshifts and up shifts after a few hours at the track. Maybe only a few days a year, but also as a daily driver
