Welcome to another E90 M3 WITHOUT a Sunroof!

BMW NA called me twice when I ordered mine, they couldn't understand why I didn't order the sunroof and thought it was a Dealer mistake.

OP: Enjoy your new M3!

...no sunroof for me either! Only options are DCT, iPod, and individual paint. Kind of wish I got the comp package and fold down seats but oh well.

haha I'm sorry i was unclear. I couldn't afford to do the maintenance on the e46 WITH owning the e90 ( i plan to spend maintenance money on modding/car care like griots car wash supplies, details, exhaust etc...). PLUS, the M has warranty for about 2.5 more years

over this summer I spent 6k+ at active to tune and do a bunch of things like a/c compressor. since then all my regulators are gone and i need several new interior pieces and bushings replaced. I had to get rid of her

18.5 mpg? FYI - Pushing down harder on the right pedal makes the car go faster.

Individual paint - Cool! I wished I went with that! What color?

Fold down seats are a must for trips to Home Depot and the Track.

True...still regret not getting the E46 in M trim. But my 330 has served me well!

Theoretical question. If we put the same experienced driver in two different m3's, one with sunroof and leather, the other without sunroof and cloth instead,
and allow him 10 laps in each, what car will render the best times?

Thanks a lot man. Love the tracking pics on your sig makes me want to get her out there ASAP. Just sounds too costly these days. Soon though

1 with sunroof and leather (auto seats i presume) could potentially be about 60lbs lighter and a lower center of gravity. The horsepower/weight benefit is NOT noticeable but yes, probably measurable in lap times... by a couple tenths.

At the end of the day DCT > anything else on track from what i hear but i have no interest in losing the 3th pedal just yet

Sounds like an ideal comparison test. Who wants to make the video?

In addition to the weight savings, I opted for no sunroof simple because:

a) I never use it.
b) If i can't have a CF roof, I ain't having no sunroof
c) $1,500 that it's in my pocket
d) One less thing to worry about from a long term maintenance standpoint.
