M3 wheel spin
I have pretty bad wheel spins on my 13' E92 when i do hard acceleration. It happens when i floor the car from 0-10 km or i suddenly pull in second or third gear. The road was dry and I was wondering maybe it's the temperature. It is only 2-5C here in winter. Do u guys experience the same on your M3? BTW i have PS2 tire.

Too much torque!!
Also the low temperature doesn't help either, but I get wheel spin even in hot temperature, I'm on PS2 as well. Need to be very good at throttle control. I'm planing to upgrade to stickier tires in spring.

Summer 19" Michelin PS2: no issues with wheelspin
Winter 18" Continental TS810: no issues with wheelspin If it's wet, different story. But on dry roads traction is very good for a 400hp RWD car. Maybe your roads have very bad tarmac or are dirty? |

was approaching the highway, full of snow salt and dirt and possibly very cold and dry road surface (6 in the morning)
3rd gear, abour 3500rpm to 5000rpm, rear wheels spinned and scared my morning out...lol got right back on the right lane with 6 gear 65mpg cruising be careful with these performance OEM PS2 tires on winter roads, even without any snow. These soft compound tires ARE dangerous on cold weather

Same here. The colder it gets, the more wheel spin I get. I am running Michelin PSS as a summer tire. When it gets colder, I have to be more careful as I can sometimes get bad wheel hop. I get even more wheel spin with my winter PA3s.

I've found that the PSS seem to be slightly better than the PS2 in terms of decreasing grip with lower temps....as long as you have a decent amount of tread left.

Summer: I get pretty bad straight line wheelspin in 1st on dusty Texas roads, to the point of having to roll off the throttle. When the roads are clean, it'll spin off the line and in the powerband but hook up quickly (this is with both PS2s and PSS).
Winter: At 40%F and below, have to watch the throttle in both first and second. Cheers

Drive smoother. My old weak ass Toyota 4x4 truck even breaks loose on pavement in a light rain if I drive like an ape. That primitive car has no ABS or traction control...nada. How did I survive driving in the snowy mountains for years? I didn't drive with "heavy feet"

summer performance tires are not designed for that kind of weather. running them in temp below their designed limit 7 degres in most cases, will make you lose a lot of the performance.

As said earlier, you can easily break traction if you're using dedicated summer tires in the winter. Anything 37 or below will make the tires too hard for it to really grip and stay warm.
