Question PDC (Front) for US Spec Cars

I have noticed in quite a few pictures of the new M3 that is has the sensors in the front for parking assistance. When you get PDC as an option is it going to be both front and rear for US spec cars or non-US? If not does anyone happen to know why? Thanks.

yes

According to the S. African brochure (found here: http://www.m3post.com/goodiesforyou/newm3info.pdf), the new M3 will have both front and rear park distance control as an available option.

I'm confident the US will get it too, but to date there has been no official US release I'm aware of, which would confirm.

They don't front PDC on any current US 3 series. Not sure about 5/6/7. Either way, I would not count on the US getting it. Anything is possible though.

7 has it, not sure about the rest. So does the X5 I think... why wouldn't they offer it on the 3 when they have it every where else though? (I feel like I have to ask this question every other day, they keep jipping us americans.)

There was some preliminary info posted recently regarding the Canadian M3 specs. It appears no front PDC is described. Here’s hoping this is just an typo or oversight ... and of course BMW NA don’t follow suit !

I'm not sure why some of these options aren't available on the cars earmarked for the US market. Hopefully it will make it to the US on this go. I'm also curious to know if it does make it will it be integrated with the
I-Drive screen like the 5, 6, and 7 series...

Thanks!!!

With all the pics in the pics forum showing front PDC I will cry if it doesn't make it to the US. Maybe it will be a secret option like ventilated seats on the 5.

Does anyone understand BMW's logic when they offer front PDC on the 7 and the X5 but not the 3?

It's as if they're actually going out of their way to annoy us.

PDC is for women that can't park. No offense.

I am personally waiting for side, top, and bottom PDC.

(I park in a cardboard box. And its shape and size varies from day to day.)

No, PDC is for guys who like to keep their front and rear bumper free of dents. People who say PDC is for women that can't park are just trying to be hardcore.

Ok fine. I guess I always skip the tight spots and will continue to circle until the nice and spacious spot shows up. But it's still an eye sore.

I don't understand PDC either. Yeah, and it's an eyesore +1

PDC is for old men who forgot their glasses, or anyone who doesn't have a feel for driving their own car. Which I can't understand. I like gadgets, but some are just overkill IMO! To each his own though, I guess! I won't make fun of anyone who orders it. At least not to his/her face.... I hope BMW does not make PDC mandatory on M-DCT cars like they did with SMG.... uhoh......

+2 -- in an SUV rear ones are useful, but never had an issue in my M3.
