I have a set of Volks TE37sl
18x9.5 +22
18x10.5 +20

So I am looking to run RS3s and was wondering what the best sizing would be for DD/Track days

Would 285s in the rear and 265/275 fronts be okay?

I would like to go the widest in the rear, feedback would be great!

I DD 265/285 in PSS on the same size sl's w/o issue.

You can fit 275 in the front if you want to get closer to a square setup. Personally I went with 275/35/18 R-S3 square on my 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 but since you want the widest rear 285 should fit fine.

For staggered wheels, the 265/35/18 and 285/35/18 would be the better stagger as the 275/35/18 in front is too close to the 285/35/18 rear. Also, the 275/35/18 may be just wide enough to interfere with your KWs like the AD08s previously did, especially at a low ride height.

275/35 with et22 will fit with KW Clubsports. Not sure if KWV3's have less clearance. There is only a few millimeters of clearance with those sizes in Michelin Super Sports and Clubsports.

As far as the rear... 285/35 is probably the best option. Unfortunately very few tires are available in 295/35 sizing and an et20 is probably too aggressive for 295's anyway.

Due to the progressive V-shaped spring that the KW Variant 3 utilizes, there is more chances of the spring or spring perch interfering with the wheel and tire, especially at a lower ride height, than the KW Clubsports that has a linear spring with a helper spring. Some people have issues with the perch being too low with the Clubsports and choose to either remove it or add a small spacer for better wheel clearance with wider wheels and tires. A spacer may remedy this issue for the KW V3s, but the only other option would be to switch the front springs for 60mm linear 6" springs if one decides to retain the KW dampers.

If I remember correctly, you'll be switching out for another suspension setup correct Mark? Just remember to use a 6" linear race spring and you should not have any issues with front wheel and tire fitment.

How about running 18x9.5 +15 in the front?
I'm under the impression that this size is available from volks.
Is there a reason why most people prefer the +22 setup due to rubbing issues?

yeah planning on it for next year sometime, but want to get it running right now, no tires on my volks now lol

No you want 265/35/18 in the front. 265/40 will be too tall.

yeah i saw that and I changed it to 35, too bad now I have to wait 3 months for these fing tires!
