Custom Sub/Amp Install in my E93 M3. ***PICS***

I've had a few members here ask me to post pics of my custom setup!

I had it done a few months ago, but I never even thought or bothered to post pics. but here they are.

The sub is from my E46 330ci, by fluke; it fit perfectly in the E93, and the trunk partition closes perfectly over it. I posted pics to show how close it is.

I plan on getting new subs in the box, or maybe going to a box a bit shorter , so its not sooo close to the partition.

My guy who did the install removed the original floor cover, placed the subwoofer box against the back of the rear sets, and then he built me a new custom floor cover, and wrapped it in the original BMW gray carpet, he cut out the hole for the amp and mounted the amp from the rear. And here it is....

nicely done without hacking up the car permanentely! the replacement floor seems to be a good idea.... how is the bass with the top down and top up? does the sound blend nicely with the stock system? get much rattling?

Looks awesome! Verts suffer so much from loss of bass that subs are really the only alternative. I have a pair of 10's in my Corvette Vert and they sound amazing.

Your install is done well. I'm assuming that Dave did your install. He's a genius! Never got anything done from him personally but my neighbour got work on his Lotus Exige done with Dave. Top notch installer.

Ya, i can easily go back to stock with this mod!
The Bass is much stronger with the top up, but you def still feel it with the top down. But you dont feel it as much on the highway to be honest with you!

with the top folded into the truck, is there a lot of rattling considering all the mechanics of the hard top mechanism?

Slammed...I don't have a E93 but did have a E46 M3 Vert and installed the BSW system. It replaced the stock small sub that is placed where the winter package door to the trunk went & this set-up sounded SO good!!!
I wonder if BSW has done a similar set-up for the new E93s? The Upgrade for the E46 M3 was like around $1100 total for sub, amp & replacement speakers.

Looks like they only have speaker upgrades as of right now...I wonder if they are gonna come out with the system similar to the E46 Vert? Actually they only have the speaker upgrade for all the E9x line...so hopefully they are working on a "sub" system now.

hi, I am driving a 335i Conv 2008. my car were smashed from the back and my amp were destroyed. i want to fit a after market amp or any amp that will work but the existing amp works with optical fiber inputs. so my question to you are, are your M3 also working with Optical fiber inputs (2 green pipes with a black plug) and with a big black plug with speaker input / output wires (this is the wires running to the speakers) no one can help me to find a amp except to refit a factory amp. can you help me, thanks?

Nothing aftermarket will work directly with the factory MOST fiber network yet. As of right now, your only hope is to get another factory amp. In a little while there is supposed to be an adapter that would allow you to convert MOST fiber to a line level out that will work with any aftermarket amp but no one knows exactly how long it will take for it to be released.

It is great job mate. May I ask you a quick question? Where did you buy a carpet to cover your wood base. As I have been doing my custom boot build as well but I have tried to find a carpet to match BMW trunk carpet completely. Unfortunately I have not found any suppliers even try to buy some already. Did you buy it from eBay or somewhere? I appriciate it.
