F10 M5 brakes?

How much fabbing would it take and how much would it cost to put F10 M5 brakes on an E9X M3. I saw it done on an E46 and even though it needed some machining, it was cheaper than a BBK

I don't see the point. You could probably get a 4 wheel BBK cheaper than trying to buy the M5 brakes. I would imagine that they would be hard to find used.

Plus, the rears are still 1 piston sliders.

Well someone Seems yo have got them for about 500 bucks less than a BBK and it's nice that they are blue and have the M logo

The calipers only? Or the calipers, rotors, pads, lines, and brackets?

Part of the reason you get a BBK is that the consumables are cheaper and last longer. So for looks...you want to saddle yourself with a system that saddles you with even more expensive consumables? You'll spend more on getting a bracket machined.

Sorry...this is a dumb idea. Why not just get some BBK calipers painted or powdercoated?

Correct. Check this thread out. $375 to powdercoat and apply the decals on both axles. The M5 has sliders in the rear.

What is this? I googled and found some Ford Taurus site talking about disk support brackets??? Sorry, I have never heard this term before.

He means sliders as in non-fixed calipers. It is a sliding caliper.

As for getting the M5 brakes to fit... Besides all the matching hardware and adapter brackets, your brake bias will be way off. You'd need the M5 brake master cylinder and brake proportioning valves as well as the ABS system from the M5.
