Modded E92 M3 Coupe at Nurburgring -- V10 M5 engine, ACS wheels and SMG!!!
INFO ON CAR:
Bremgo, a German aftermarket parts retailer, has dropped the M5/M6 500hp V10 engine into a 2008 BMW M3 coupe. The engine outputs 507 horsepowers (up from the stock M3's 420hp)! The M3's stock 6 speed manual transmission has also been replaced with the M5/M6's seven speed SMG transmission. ________________________________________________ I am on vacation in Europe this week and got a chance to visit Nurburgring on Sunday to get a ride in the Ring Taxi (which was amazing by the way). We got there really early in the morning hoping to catch a glimse of all the cars coming in and right when I pulled into the parking lot, I spotted it...a brand new M3 sitting outside the BMW building. The car had AC Schnitzer 20" wheels (295/25/20 tires on the rear), Recaro aftermarket seats and a Harge steering wheel. It was also an SMG model. I have a decent video of the guy pulling away in it as he left the area, but its too big to post now. I will shrink it down when I get back to the US. But the exhaust sounded unbelievable as he drove off. Here are the pics... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() While I have not been completely sold on the new M3 idea over an RS4, having seen it in person is really starting to win me over.

Hmmmm........wonder if this will really be the final look for the DCT tranny.
All it is, is a current M5 SMG shift knob with an E46 M3 SMG shifter base and boot. My gut tells me the final DCT look will be different. Nice pics! Not sure if the 20's look too big or not.......... ![]() |

Great catch - definitely the first photos I've seen of a DCT equipped M3!

How about the carbon inlay in the center console and lets not forget that amazing F1 based steering wheel.(love that flat bottom). Hopefully two options that will be available. DCT is cool but just not for me. Who has 2 thumbs and needs 3 pedals ?? This guy right here.

I've always loved flat bottomed steering wheels too.... I think the one in the pic is an aftermarket Hartge one...
Dont think BMW will be offering one Quote:

Is it me or is this car missing the lip spoiler on the trunk / boot lid? I'm not seeing it in the photos...

That trim is interesting on the center console. Would be nice if they did extend the trim down there like they do on other models.
However, nothing about that car makes sense. Why would BMW be testing with AC 20in wheels, the Hartage steering wheel, the odd interior trim and the SMG knob? Why no M3 emblem on the back? Everything else is uncovered.

1. Nothing about this car DOES make sense. If testing the M-DCT, why do it on aftermarket wheels, which make a HUGE difference in the driving dynamics, speed, acceleration, and "feel" of the car. 1a. The interior doesn't make sense if this is the new M-DCT. Why would they test it with a Hartage trim kit? 2. The extension of the trim in a wide strip on the upper portion of the dash and down onto the center console looks FANTASTIC and BMW REALLY MISSED THE BOAT by not trimming out the M3 like what is shown in this image. 3. The SMG knob is cool, but I'll bet BMW would come up with something different for the new M-DCT. So, I conclude that this is in fact some lucky owner's personal M3 and we should in no way draw conclusions from what we see in these images. My guess is that the SMG shift knob and apparatus are just taken from an M5 or M6 and that the tranny is NOT the new M-DCT. To repeat, as much as I would love to see it already being tested, this is NOT THE NEW M-DCT.

Awesome pics! Wow those wheels are big! I dont really like this style rims, but it doesn't look bad on the new M3. Thanx for the post.

it just keep getting better and better... people making immediate mods. The wheels complements the exterior color....
maybe the owner opted out the spoiler... Sweet pics!

it could most likely be an ac schnitzer car which besides being a tuner is also a dealership in germany. probably testing out new products for the car. carbon trim, steering wheel and wheels etc etc. also being a dealer they probably get cars way in advance for marketing and etc.

The aftermarket wheels certainly will not make a "HUGE" difference in all those things you mentioned. More like barely perceptable yet likely measureable is more like it .3. Yes Like I have said with the couple of production, non mule looking cars we have seen thus far. I'd be willing to place a very large wager that they are not customers cars. No regular paying customer from a dealer will get their hands on this car until the first or second week of September - the official delivery/launch date. Next I'd also place a similarly large wager that this is indeed a real DCT tranny equipped car. What are the other options? An automatic (with SMG shift knob) - extremely unlikely. A 6MT with SMG shift knob - also extremely unlikely. Ever heard of Okams Razor...??? You are simply being way way too bold in saying and I quote "this is NOT THE NEW M-DCT." |
