I'm very curious to see how this thing plays out. I figured for a $60 to $70k car, I at 36 would be on the low-end of "new" M3 owners age group.
However, I'm very surprised. The kinds of cars I would have thought I'd be old for would be Evo's, WRX's, Golf's....but NOT M3's.

I'm 24, purchased my e46 M3 brand new on my 21st birthday, paid it off in 2 years, and bought my e92 M3 in the last month. I have virtually zero financial assistance from family, live in a low cost apartment with my girlfriend, and we are actively saving for a house (I still think there's about 6-9 months left before real estate hits rock bottom).
I was a Jr. in college when I got the e46, but lived in an apartment through the school as part of room and board. If you consider that my parents paid for my college expenses, I suppose you could categorize me as a freeloader, but I would argue otherwise. |

Right, Fifth, but this is the first one that is public. In fact the second two you list were started before people even had cars yet. That said, the results appear pretty similar so its seems that people were somewhat truthful. Of course, I haven't gone through all the names in this poll to see if everyone really has a car (not do I wish to), but I recognize many of them.

Yeah like you, I don't care enough to actually look them up. Back when the other polls were running, you might remember I suggested a public poll like this one should require a link to a pics thread. I suppose If arr0gant is really curious (and has lots of spare time) he could edit his first post to list out and tally only the people who can be verified to actually own cars.I think its pretty safe to say that most E9X M3 owners who participate in forums are late twenties to late thirties. The younger ones are much fewer in number than they were in the E46 era, or so it would seem anyway.

one thought, at 16 you can not legally purchase a car. You can drive one, but you need someone who is 18 to purchase it for you. You also can not legally license the car in your name.

can someone explain the rationale behind the curiosity of knowing our occupation or age as an M3 owner?? does the OP realize that someone here might be 16 and buy their first m3 or 50 and have lamborghinis and ferraris and buys and m3 for DD.
is it like "i'm younger/i'm smarter/i'm richer" which is it?? because it's certainly not to get to know me better... |
