Special paint job: $4000
Carbon fiber parts: $600+$500+$500
Interior carbon:$2000
Stickers:$100 each
There is also labour of installation
And the limited quantity of production
U also get a signature of the championship driver.
I do not think the BMW marketing guys are nuts, at least they are more professional than us.
Plz stop ur hate, give more respect plz.

Seems like this would be more appropriate if it was released as a toy model or something.

When Honda built 50 Zanardi edition NSX's in 1999 they gave individual number plaques so you knew where yours stood. Mine was #17,but
couldn't find the orig pic. Red paint was exclusive to this car "New Formula Red".

Quality examples that come up for sale (they sell immediately in most cases)
go mid $60's to $70K +. Cars had MSRP's @ $84,785 & could be purchased
for $75-80K new in 1999.

If your trying to determine the date sequence in which "Edition" cars came off the production line then know that BMW can very easily still do this. For their "Edition" cars, BMW simply needs to produce a list of the vins for each edition car. IF that violates some sort of privacy, then they can produce a list of the 12th through the 17th character in the BMW's VIN. Those numbers are sequential and indicate the sequence of the vehicle for production as it rolled off the manufacturer's assembly line.

Given the collectors interest in this sort of thing, owners of Edition cars might want to lobby for this

i want a real wide body dtm look alike, not that. the carbon fiber interior accents and brake handle are nice, as are the carbon fiber splitter and trunk lip but the stickers are just dorky.

Heck, I remember when a "million dollar home" was a "mansion" and very exclusive... now we trade those (in certain areas) like they are common. The value is relative, of course, to the present value of money.
