Seat only weighs 15.4 Lbs, and is a great way to shave weight from your car.

I bought this seat some years ago with hopes of using it in a track car, but that project never got quite completed. I bought this seat from Solo Racer http://www.soloracer.com/poleposition.html (description and pic is here).

It cost me over $900 with shipping etc... for this seat, selling for only $699

Date? FIA cert is usually only good for 5 years. I'm interested if it's expired and you drop the price.

if you guys want to use the seat for racing in a particular class of racing that requires current tags on the seat, then this isn't the seat for you. its tags have expired for several years.

For those looking at this as a seat for a bona fide race car, check sanctioning body rules. Many FIA expired seats can still be used with an appropriate seat back brace.

You can get a new one with 5 years remaining on the certification for the same price....

Yeah, that's what I said. I could use it anyway for HPDE's, but the value is substantially less since it is no longer FIA certified. If you drop the price significantly since it is not certified anymore, I am interested.

There are multiple sites selling the seat brand new with 5 years remaining for $699 or less.

lol I don't think that's black market. But yeah, this seat should be about half price rather than full new price...

Yeah FIA seats do, but if you're not racing with them....then there isn't a big deal.

PM'd Raucky. I don't think the vendor is a forum sponsor so I'm not linking it here. But they are under $700 brand new with 5 years left on FIA cert. I'd do around $400 shipped on the seat OP if you're interested, that's fair on an expired seat that is $699 new.

i didn't think you would respond with a link or a number for this claimed "deal". anyways for those that are curious, i did find some info on this, there are some chinese imitation "Recaros" floating around, the people selling them are advertising them as authentic. so buyer beware, these replica seats look fairly good, but are made with cheaper materials and are inferior in SAFETY and QUALITY.
