Rd sport springs or kw sleeve-over kit?

Hey guys, I'm new to the forums, but I just wanted to know what you guys think I should buy. I'm debating between rd sport springs or the kw sleeve-over kit. I want to lower my car without ruining performance. Thanks.

I'm guessing funds aren't an issue. Go with the sleeve over kit, if your car has EDC then you get to keep that as opposed to getting a set of coilovers. Post pics of the car!

I haven't seen any reason to go with the KW over a set or springs. You can't go any lower with the sleeve kit.

+1 I went with RD springs w/e36 bumpstops for that exact reason.. They have the drop I want at less than half the price of the sleeve over kit

My vote is for the RDSport springs. They are great springs and a lot of customers are say the ride height and stance is perfect.

The advantage of the sleeve over kit is to allow you to adjust the height - either lower than just lowering springs or higher as similar to the Dinan springs. Also makes it so you can corner weight the car for performance balance.

+1. You can go at least 5mm lower than any springs we've come across, and this includes RDS.

KW S/O KIT Max Low F/R.

I wouldn't ever put a sleeve over kit or coil overs on max low. I think it needs to be at least a couple turns above max low. I don't know why, but to me it sounds like a bad idea to put it literally at the limit of where it can be.

Also RD stance is perfect to me. Those tires on the rears are just too skinny and the offset isn't aggressive enough on those rear wheels.

Thanks guys for the responses. I haven't done much to the car but get 3M black tint to all sides. Just waiting for my matte black grills to come in the mail. Otherwise it is an 08' AW e90 m3 with edc, tech package, premium package, carbon fiber trim. Can't do too much to it yet since so many things are coming up in a few months. Wedding and looking for a house. Will post pics when I can.

. Anyways, I think I might just go with the kw sleeve-over kit.

Btw. How easy is it to adjust the height of the kw when already in place? Can I do it myself without removing the tires? For instance, what if I'm not happy with the height currently and want to make it higher or lower than it is?

The front is relatively easy and can be done by simply jacking car up and taking the wheel off. The rear however requires a spring compressor and a professional is highly recommended.

Technically yes, maybe you can adjust the sleeve kit lower but if you check the recommended max lowering height that KW says their kit is meant for, it is no lower than a set of springs.

I was considering the KW sleeve-over kit. However, after talking to a couple of vendors that sell this kit I decided against it because I was told unless you use the sport EDC setting the car is under-damped and the ride bouncy. I have no first hand experience but if that's true then it seems getting a sleeve-over to maintain EDC functionality is just not worth it.

Not sure if you'll run into the same issues with EDC damping and lowering springs or if it's the spring rate of the KW sleeve-over that's the problem? Again, no personal experience, just what I've been told...

We have a customer that has the KW sleeve over kit with EDC and the ride is quite nice. We didn't do the install so I don't know exactly how it's adjusted... I believe Sonic installed it. The car is not slammed, but the stance is good. It's not bouncy at all. In my opinion it rides better than mine used to with Eibach sport springs.
