Dream stable of cars. I love my E92 but i would trade it in for the CSL or the GTS. Too bad the CRT isnt coming to America...

Damm..high revving naturally aspirated I6, V8 engine sound is pretty amazing

Only bad thing is that they are last naturally aspirated Bmw.

If you wan´t E46 M3 Csl special sound on you M3, just bougth Evolve-r and csl airbox.

Limited sound clip but the GTS and CRT sounded ever so slightly different or maybe it was just a case of different gear and part of the rev range

I guess it must be because I grew up around American muscle because I would be embarrassed to have a car sound like the E46. I think it looks amazing and purposeful but the sound kills it for me. The E90 model run Sound is a million times better to me

It's interesting (and odd) that the GTS and CRT would sound so different. The clips were really short and they might have caught the two cars during different rev ranges and load, but the difference was still telling.

I listened to that vid 5 times. It's sweet everytime but the difference in cabin sound between the GTS,CRT and ZCP car was dramatic. No difference in GTS and CRT really but the ZCP has an obvious deeper tone inside the cabin. Can that all be exhaust attributed? IDK.

To me, it sounds more as if the mic was outside the car near the exhaust. When I record my track vids, I install the mic on the rear bumper and it sounds almost exactly as the M3 with the performance pack in the video

I just listened yet again and still not sure. This is why I love/hate these videos. All the cars sound great with the 1M being the least great.

Well, the CRT has full interior and the GTS has no rear seats which allows more sound into the cabin. Not sure if the clips are recorded in or out of the cabin.

Thats what I thought as well, but it looked like it was outfitted with a lot of performance gear such as seats, wheels, etc. I'm sure it had the performance exhaust.

Love the raspiness of the CSL. 1M may not have the best sound but at least shows up with a proper gearbox.
