BBK or Panerai?

Back in the day I remember a mod my car or mod my wrist post.

I said wrist w/o little hesitation, but the mod bug is a dangerous one and when it bites, you're screwed. Akrapovic exhaust, HRE P40's, and many mods later I could've gotten a pretty sweet watch by now, but modded the bimmer first.

So now I am thinking about taking my own words and getting the Panerai...or should I go BBK?

Panerai 292

Brembo BBK

But they can't stop an M3 in anywhere near as fast as a Brembo BBK.

Do you track the car?

If you track your car, get a BBK. If not and you want to spend a big wedge on something go with the watch...but at least get something original. Panerai is (over) played out at this point. Just my 2c...

I'm happy with my G-Shock but I wasn't happy with my stock brakes, so for me:

BBK > Panerai

If you already have a decent watch. I'd say go BBK.

From what i see up there, the bbk is what your M is missing, so make it a real beast.

I'm sorry, but does that watch really look like it's worth 5-7 thousand dollars?

You be surprised! Many "high" end time pieces doesn't look like how much they cost.

I would pick both. Every man deserves a nice time piece and car!

Assuming you're not tracking the car, the BBK is out. At $10k+ for a premium watch, it's more about jewelry than about being an accurate timepiece or deep water resistance. With this in mind, there are many more attractive (and more desirable) watches at that price point. Personal tastes vary widely on watches like this, but, I personally think the Panerai 292 is very plain looking. Those who know the brand (which will be very few) will be impressed. Most everyone else will not. If you're looking for status amongst a select group, buy the watch. Otherwise (and assuming your M3 is not a track car), buy neither and bank the cash.
