What's the point of buying the car if you're not going to enjoy it. Life is short.

2008 about to hit 25k miles.. I live a mile from work (I always let the oil come to temp before shutting it off) and another couple miles from the gym. I average maybe 5 miles a day on my car during the week, and am struggling to put more than 600 miles on it a month so far this winter!

I absolutely love driving it, but I know mileage kills resell value on M cars. I'm trying to average 7-10k miles a year right now, which is mostly pleasure miles on the weekends.

Bought it to drive it...zero concern for mileage/re-sale value. I didn't buy it just to re-sell it. Enjoy...

I was just thinking about putting miles on my car today. I bought a 2011 zcp with 14k miles and it's now the only car I have. I don't mind putting miles on it, but I don't like the idea of going on a road trip and putting a 1000 miles on it. I want to keep the odometer low. I'll probably drive it to Arizona once to visit my dad, but I'm going to just fly home to Sacramento to visit my friends.

These cars have a million sensors and that is probably going to be the biggest problem as the car ages, not necessarily the mileage.

Same year and mileage for me. I do have a 10 year old subaru outback for snow trips or road trips where I need more room. Otherwise I take the M everywhere.

nope, drive it every chance I get and enjoy every moment of it. 2011.00 at 41k+ miles. Still no one reported seeing mine yet in the official Cal sighting thread though.

All I can say is "Forget about it" .... I love this Italian expression ... And .... "Enjoy your car"

I'm in my 4th ///M3 ... Two of them have seen the east and west coast of both the USA and Canada .... my 2011.75 ///M3 will see the same coasts next year (God willing).

When I do take those road trips I think about how much I would have to pay to rent one of them fine cars (once I get where I'm going) while diving along and enjoying myself along our fine country roads .... Not to speak of all that fine scenery I would miss had I taken the plane.

So drive it and enjoy it I always say

PS. Mind you I am retired you may have to wait a few years to enjoy your car to the fullest for such long trips, however, when you get to that juncture do try it you will love it ... Even more so if you think about what I mentioned above.

(Forgive the typos .... My thoughts shared with you from my iPhone)

Never worry about driving it. That's why I bought it. I do however worry every time I have to leave it at the Atlanta Airport all week. This is why I'm buying a Tundra

If anything, it's my car that HATES sitting around for more than a couple of days at a time haha. Left the car at the airport garage and when I started, it was idling all over the place for the first 5 seconds (most likely ICV going).

While I hate putting miles on it, I still daily drive it for now. I plan on keeping this car well into 2xx,xxx miles. Whatever it'll need maintenance wise, it'll get.

Last 6MT and N/A combo ///M. The car has earned the right to always have a roof over its head in my garage. I'll just keep adding and replacing other cars.

Interesting choice. Right now, I'm just looking for a cheap E34 wagon to drive around. But a second gen Tundra is what I'll be looking at in a few years I think. Love those trucks.

We need some members here to enjoy their cars by parking them in the garage for most of the time, to preserve them for their next owners.

Maybe it's just my bad experiences with previous Audis that make me think this way. It's my first BMW but I've eard of some pretty bad thing about BMWs long time reliability. But anyway, you can be sure that I wont get rid of it untill I start earing horror stories from other owners!
We all know Sparkling Graphites are immune to problems with the electronics.

Nope. That's why I bought it. Had a GT500 weekend only garage queen. Never drive it because always doing family stuff. Got the M3 for best of both worlds. Daily driver and can pack the family in if I want to for the weekends.

I hate not putting enough miles on it! My 2011's only at about 7k, partly because I have a DD and my commute to work is only 15 miles round trip
